After 6 yrs of no gym time, I realized I'm turning into a used-to-be, and that ain't gonna fly in my world. 5 weeks ago I radically improved my diet, started working out w/o weights (to get my body ready to push iron again), and started doing some research. Starting monday, I plan on hitting the gym and was going to start with 2 full-body workouts a week. Nothing heavy at first, just compound lifts to regain the old muscle-memory, and to give myself a chance to work thru the soreness I know is coming. Maybe around week 4 I'll start splitting it up some, hitting each bodypart 2x per week pretty hard. I'm sure you guys have never seen these questions before
, so...
To begin with, what would be a good diet? At what point should I begin to up my food intake? Immediately, or give it a couple of weeks? Supplements, what good to help recovery? Is there some amazing new shit out now, or use the old standby's? All help is appreciated. Oh yeah, my goals are to pack on muscle, and drop fat. (no shit?) I'm 31, 5'11" 205lb and can almost see my abs still.
P.S. can someone explain the karma thing to a newbie?
