I was at GNC today and the dude at the counter told me that hormones like the beast are way worse in your liver than steroids! I would like to hear some opinions!
As a general rule, don't listen to anything anyone at GNC says. In fact, don't even go in. I liken GNC to a black hole of intelligence. Not only is there none within, it is such a vacuum that your own intellect will be sucked out of you, never to return again.
Bear in mind that "Beast" was a completely different product from Beastdrol. If I recall correctly, it was Methyl-Test, originally. I might be wrong on that.
If he WAS talking about Beastdrol, then he is talking about Superdrol, which is Methylated masteron. Either way, they ARE both steroids, and therefore cannot, by logical definition, be "worse than steroids." It's simple logic. x cannot be greater or less than x. x must always equal x.
His sentence amounts to nothing more than "steroids are worse than steroids."
In addition, his statement is further turned to muddled bullshit by the fact that he stated that "hormones...are worse than steroids."
Again, by definition, steroids are artificial synthesized versions OF hormones. If we want to be technical, the only thing that REALLY makes something a steroid is the characteristic of being fat soluble and having the presence of a 7 carbon ring nucleus structure.
Testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, bile, and even that nasty hallucinogenic shit on the outside of toads skin are all technically steroids.
This means that birth control pills, cortisone, topical anti-inflammatory cremes, etc, are steroids as well.
I guarantee that your brilliant mad scientist at GNC has no idea of those facts. He's a car salesman, trying to get commission off of selling you Muscletech or USPLabs. Did he steer you towards one of those? Odds are that he did, because those are the biggest commissions that GNC employees get.
Now, he's pseudo in the ballpark of something resembling truth, when you consider the fact that orally administered anabolic and androgenic steroids are methylated to prevent degradation of the compound on first pass through the liver. This makes those compounds liver toxic. Much more so than injectable anabolic and androgenic steroids.
Now, is he trying to assert than Beastdrol, while legal, is more toxic than illegal aas? Possibly. And if this is the case, he is both right and wrong. Because injectable aas are much less toxic to the body in general than oral aas. However, there are plenty of illegal oral aas that are liver toxic as well. Anavar and Dbol come readily to mind.
In fact the most liver toxic aas known right now is methyltrienolone. It is completely illegal, and shows "SIGNIFICANT liver toxicity at less than a milligram per day" (William Llewelyn, author of
Anabolics).
So, is Beastdrol more toxic than that? No.
It is legal, and many users report running successful cycles of 20mgs-30mgs per day for 3-4 weeks.
Seth Roberts (author of
Anabolic Pharmacology) even states that (in spite of it being a methylated form of masteron) "[Superdrol] bears a structural similarity to Anavar." So, is it more or less toxic than a compound to which it bears a structural similarity? Remember that x must always equal x. They are not the
same, of course; but an expert does reference their similarity.
According to a prominent steroid website (which the software here removes the name of when posted LOL), there are reported cases of users of methltrielolone having elevated liver values accompanied by jaundice (yellowing of the eyes, a sign of liver failure) with 2mgs per day for less than 3 weeks.
The truth of the matter, in my opinion, is actually very simple to understand
1. Superdrol is a powerful and toxic compound that must be respected and understood before even considering using it. ALWAYS talk to your doctor before making ANY changes to your diet, training, or supplement regimen.
2. Don't take advice from people at GNC.
There are entire threads dedicated to sharing the dumb ass things that GNC employees have said and recommended. One of them told me I wasn't putting on mass because I wasn't taking enough "nitrous oxide."
Another told me that the topical fat burner I was holding was "just like creatine."
