A couple years ago I visited a psychic with a friend for her birthday for fun to see what was up and who she was going to marry and all that dumb stuff.

Anyway - the psychic told me that at the time I had a dark aura.

Obviously its something bad. I assume that because she told me Jesus had a light aura. :worried:

I was just wondering what the hell that was and if you are born with it. This was probably about 5 or 6 years ago or so.

Does anyone know anything? I get tons of different answers when I google. Some saying I am deceptive others saying its a good thing.

Just wondering. I'm bored today.
 
Hi Cindy! For starters, I think you have a beautiful aura. I really am not familiar with anything psychic at all.

The only thing that would concern me is that you've been going around for 5 years thinking you have a dark aura. SCREW that! Your aura is bright and beautiful and I wish that stupid lady wouldn't have messed with your head like that!

I dont think that I believe that an aura really exists - well - okay I cant say for sure because I dont know what it is- but if its another term for soul or something then it cant be good. haha.

I really don't know what the heck the "aura" is anyway but I do believe in a spirit world. There really is spiritual warfare and I have really felt the presence of evil as well as good. I think some people really are so evil that if you are in tune with that kind of thing you will pick up on it. But I'm sure aren't giving off any Charles Manson or Hannibal the Canibal vibes, lol!

i do believe people generate a certain aura/energy.

you can usually "feel" it.

i've been told i have a great, positive aura. People who have magnetic personalities usually have this type of aura

i know people with negative auras...you can literally feel t he life being sucked out of you in their precense.
You don't have that....but there are a few on this board who do

Exactly!!! I agree with all of this 100%.

Last year I ran into an aquaintence at a coffee shop. She had her family with her that day and introduced me to everyone and went on and on about "how there is just something about you!". She was a little over board but it did make me feel great. She said she could feel an overflow of God coming out of me. It was an interesting encounter.

I go emo too on occasion and wallow in my own misery then I put my hair up in a high ponytail, slather on my favorite lipgloss and snap the hell out of it.

You should have asked her what she meant. If she's a legit psychic what SHE means by a "dark" aura could mean something entirely different for another person who has sight. It's all very subjective.

The aura is one of the names given to the various energy bodies that encompass us. Some people can feel them, some people can see them and some people are full of shit.

Frankly, I'm leaning toward the full of shit category from that psychic. You don't say something like that to someone without telling them what it means and what to do if it indicates a potential problem, it's irresponsible. And NOBODY fucking knows what Jesus' aura looked like, okay?

I asked her what that was, and she told me to look at the picture of Jesus that was hanging on the wall there. I did. She then asked me if i could see the light glow that was surrounding his body (there was a glow in the painting). when I told her I could see that, she goes, "well, yours is dark."

I was like wtf? ooookay?

It's ENERGY. Energy is neither light nor dark. Now there are colors associated with it, but I don't have "the sight" so I can't answer that question from personal experience. I can FEEL the energy from an aura, but not well enough to diagnose someone at a quick swipe, to me it literally feels like the tingling prickle of electricity. Every time I've known someone who could see auras they were associated with colors, the colors of light going through a prism generally, with white here or there, or even black here or there, and sometimes muddying of colors. They are almost NEVER just ONE color.

Dark theoretically could indicate any one of a number of things, negative thoughts, ill health, or bad times ahead. That's why I think she was full of shit and irresponsible, she probably wanted to bilk you for $$$. Just giving you that bullshit Jesus line is a platitude. She didn't actually answer your question or give you a constructive way to find the answer yourself. She just said Jesus is light, you're not, so draw your own conclusions. I HATE shit like that. It's not useful, helpful or productive and gives genuine psychics who are actually trying to help people a bad rap.

that is pretty interesting.

and, yeah, when she told me that Jesus was light, the conclusion I drew was that I was the opposite of Jesus. Fuck! I put it in the back of my mind but I always kind of wondered what the hell she meant by that. I did have some pretty hard days coming around the corner after that...but they were not the worst I'd seen so I never really could figure out what was up.

She said other things to me, but I dont remember anything but that.

Is it weird that I can remember what I was wearing that day? I think I was still using a fake ID to get into bars at the time. WOW.
 
I'm forced to keep my opinions to myself about professional psychics. They may or may not have the gifts they claim. They may or may not be out trying to help the public using their gifts. They may or may not see themselves using their gifts in the same way an artist who charges for his paintings or musician for his CDs. Not my place to judge.

The problem is that there ARE legitimate people out in the world, giving legitimate, useful advice but how do you separate them out from the con artists?

What I will tell you is that MOST (not all) genuine, legit psychics will not give you as much "open to interpretation" advice. If you have potential danger entering your life, you'll be given reasonably clear information. I went to a psychic when I was younger. She told me "Watch out for ropes around your feet and legs."

Now, unfortunately, I forgot this little piece of advice. About six months after I had that reading I went to go bring in the dog (when I got the reading, I didn't have a dog, hell, I hadn't even met my husband), the dog, a husky, was tied out back. I go to the dog, doggie runs away. Dog was tied with cotton rope and I didn't realize I had stepped in a loop of rope. The rope zipped around my ankle until the dog ran out of rope and I ended up with a truly awful rope burn that got badly, badly infected. So I should have watched out for ropes around my feet, huh?

See what I mean by clear advice? None of this, "you may encounter trouble when you're taking a ride in a car." Everybody encounters trouble when they go on a car ride sooner or later :rolleyes:
 
Cindylou, the "dark aura phenomenon" is caused by having too much cash in your wallet, and the psychic would eventually have explained how she would take responsibility for "cleansing" your aura at the source.

Apparently your session ended before she got to that part.
