It's a charge card. You have to pay the bill in full in three weeks. You're not using any credit. It's paying cash without having to carry a bag of money on you. you have to wire them in full on the 30th of each month for all of that months purchases.

Because it shows we are getting further away from using cash in todays society and going all plastic. I have problems with this because of how many people abuse the plastic. Everyone I know is in debt, and 9 times out of 10 its because they buy stuff with that card they can't afford. I was raised with the belief that if you can't pay for it, you don't deserve it. A house was the only exception, I even buy my vehicles with cash. I know I shouldn't worry about other people, but I can't help think that this somehow will affect me in one way or another. People go too far in debt and never get out, someone is going to end up paying for it. Just like welfare, it doesn't just magically appear, someone pays for it. And women, I can't meet a woman that isn't in debt. So yeah, it affects me.

Many businesses refuse to take it because their rates for business owners are pretty much double what Visa/Discover/MC are. Their game plan was to get more people wanting their card so they made it more of a benefit for cardholders to use than Visa etc by charging higher fees for business owners and not the customer. It has somewhat worked, but at the same time if a business owner doesn't want to accept Amex its not like he's going to lose much considering everyone that has a Amex also has a back up card or two.

A guy at the gym was in the process of getting a divorce. He paid of almost 20k of credit card debt she had run up before they got married. She ran up more and he was responcible to pay that to after the divorce.lol
But, the kicker was. During the divorce he found out she was recieving almost 2k a month in child support. She hid it from him and told him she didn't get child support.lol

The black card is invite only . American express will invite you to have a black card only if you spend over 200k a year on a american express account.
The black card has no limit. You can buy a jet airplane if you wish ,was done by a superstar that was transfering funds from a bank account to pay but wanted the plane today instead of waiting for funds to clear he used his black card for a 25 million dollar purchase.
If anyone claims to have a black card does not always mean it is real. Some guys carry around cheap copies that have their name on it but do not actually have a account with american express. Just as some guys wear fake rolex watches , knock off armani suits and yes even fake black cards.They will pull it out and make sure people see it they want to impress then be like oh I guess i'll just pay cash and hand a few hundred bucks to the waiter and put the card away.
