Testosterone, powder form?

Here's the deal, my doctor is prescribing me test so I called my insurance company and one of the very few test med's that they can approve is testosterone in "powder form". The pharmacy would ship me the powder and I will take it to my doctor for administration. Does this mean that he will send me to a compound pharmacist to mix with a gel or oil? I would prefer to have an injectable.

If its a doctor he can prescribe an injectable.
