Test and your voice

nolin

New member
I know many people metion that test use can lower your voice. I have sang most of my life and have always been a tenor. If you don't know what that is it's the highest singing voice for a male with the exception of alto tenors like Steve Perry of Journey, Brad Delp form Boston or Geddy Lee form Rush. I started my first cycle 6 weeks ago and since the 2nd week I noticed my voice being a little deeper and people have mentioned it. What is more surprising is that I also have noticed an icrease in my vocal range. I use to squeak out Journey or Boston songs with help from my falsetto now I'm flat out nailing all the highest notes, no falsetto! How could the Test or Deca I'm taking actually increase vocal range not just deepen the voice? Any theories welcomed as I am happy yet totally baffled.

It seems to me that the guys with little to no facial hair do a cycle, then their voice does get deeper and then they grow a beard after awhile.

my buddy's voice dropped a lot after his winny cycle =/ could dht be the culprit?

Test will lower your voice. For most people it will return to normal when you come off unless you are on for a very long time.

I agree 100%....especially about it returning to normal post cycle.

But why would it increase my upper range as well

Thanks guys but I'm still wondering how my singing voice got higher while my speaking voice got lower? It's like my vocal chords stretched out in both directions. Any theories?

I'll keep on bumpin'

I'll bump this mother fucker for the next year if that's what it takes to get a theory on the voice range thing!

voice ranging

AS are not affecting your range, you are. There are all sorts of things that can mildy increase your range, such as humidity, etc, but chances are its a coincidence, and you're doing something different or have streched/exercised your cords.

You are not correct... Example, look at what happens to women when they cycle, their voice always drops. Same thing with men, increase the testosterone more and you'll get more pronounced male side effects, whether its vocal range, hair growth, or whatever.

A woman's voice changes cause they aren't and weren't exposed to the levels of testosterone a man was. Their vocal cords haven't been "changed" by it, so that's why it happens to them. Listen to Myke Tyson! his sure ain't deep, hehe.I don't think nolin's changes were due to AS. Possibly his constant singing against Steve Perry of Journey has stretched his chords and he has learned to control his vocal muscles in a new way. Try Mariah Carey next Nolin! ahahhaahahhaaaa

I think I have figured it out, with your comments as a good help! My voice is a bit deeper no question but what has been different since I started is my intake of water. I've never drank so much in my life. I think the combination of a well lubricated body and deca have helped oil the machine better. Also I think I've been feeling great and real confident on the juice so when I sing I'm all happy and not worried I won't hit notes. Thanks guys for the input, does this sound reasonable?
