Terrorist attacks in Madrid: 175 killed

Americans should be made to read the Koran as an educational assignment.

What you will find will shock you. And even further shock you when you realize people base their lives and existence upon this book.

I'm still amazed people base their lives and existence off the bible.

Sorry but I really think that Saudi Arabia is funding the spread of militant fundamentalism around the world. I also think that money to support terrorism is coming from Saudi Arabia and perhaps Syria. Extremists in Pakistan are spreading nuclear technology to rogue Islamic countries for one purpose only, to give them destructive power. The muslim religion by itself is very rigid and dictatorial, i.e., you can't go to heaven by believing in god, you have to dress a certain way, act a certain way, pray so many times a day, keep fast etc, etc, etc. If you don't then you will go to hell. The religion and their way of life does not allow progress, innovation or forward thinking. They keep going backwards in time and if given the opportunity will take verybody else with them. Sorry if my words seem harsh. Like I said, I have family that practice Islam.

Dude, you've always seemed like a reasonable guy and some of the assertions you're making here such as some Saudi's funding Islamic extremism are perfectly valid. That doesn't mean you blow the whole country off the map.

The description you have offered of Islam is somewhat correct although I think you meant to say 'you go to heaven by believing in God'. However, this is an old and outdated interpretation of the Quran. There are many progressive and forward thinking muslim scholars out there that don't think like the old school. If they are 'backward' to you, who cares? I believe an American ideal is freedom of speech and expression. I am not a religious person although my wife is muslim and don't really wish to get into a philosophical debate over religions but condemning an entire religion and its practicioners is wrong and surely you can see that. I believe you have some Indian heritage, you wouldn't appreciate it if someone blindly generalized all Indians would you?

Are you kidding, I generalize Indians all the time. Read some of my posts. If I can't make fun of people in a similar ethnic group as myself, how can be objective about others.
