i have the same problem , my left elbow area hurts especially when i do curls with it. seems to hurt when i lift something up from waist high to my chest. also when i swing a golf club after i notice it is sore. not excruicaiting but sore, would also like to hear replys thanks

there is golfers elbow as well :)

tennis elbow affects the outer side of the elbow, golfers elbow the inner sides (medial) of the elbow

go to one of the links in the sticky, Merck home manual is good. its got way more information on it and is laid out really clearly

stunner i am tennis player and had a terrible case of tennis elbow last fall. i was working out with a pro and we were making some changes and i just practiced too hard i guess. it got so bad when i shook someone's hand the pain would shoot up and down my arm. it was horrible. fortunately i could work out still.

well i am happy to say it has healed 100%. the cure? rest, rest, rest. i laid off the courts for five weeks. whatever you are doing in aggravating it. there are sacs in your elbow called bersa, hence bercitis. when the bersa burst you don't have that natural lubrication which is the cause of your pain.

ya gotta let nature take its course and let it heal. my doc also recommended a lot of ice and doing exercises sqeezing a rubber ball to strengthen it.

See above..rest is the only thing to heal...its basically just inflammation. Try some antiinflammatories- advil the best or bromelean if your into the natural thing. Another thing that is effectice is a tight brace or ace bandage just below the elbow..it creates a new insertion for the extensors and lets the common origin of the extensors take a break

yeah I am a tennis player as well and I have had both tennis and golfers elbow at some point in my life. They are pretty bad to deal with. The only cure is to rest, ice, and take IBprofuen. You could try a tace elbow bracelt, its like this magnet thing that goes around your wrist but if you have it real bad nothings gonna help.

i know so many guys at my tennis club who have tennis elbow and continue to play with it and wonder why it never gets any better. they are so afraid of giving up their tennis even a few weeks because they are terrified of losing their game.

my right arm locks up on me me I do bench sometimes. and one arm tricep extensions hurt like crazy. I think I have bad tennis elbow aswhel. cortozone shots are what the docs would perscribe and thats catabolic so Im living with it for the momment.

when i had my tennis elbow my doc advised againse cortisone shots. they will temporarily relieve the pain but delay the healing. it would be nice if you could take a shot or pill to cure everything but sometimes the true cure is rest and time. :)

I played tennis all the time with little to no tennis elbow, but raquetball, holy cow, 20 min into it it hurts like hell. Im convinced its all about proper form, i had short quick wacks.that killed me
