Tendonitus in left elbow Any advice?

Hi guys. For the past week or two Ive had soreness in my left elbow. It only gets in the way during pulling movements where the elbows bend ( Lat pulldowns,Rows, etc). It doesnt effect my deadlifts or anything else really. Not sure what to do about it. It sucks cuz I dont know any back movements I can do for the upper back and lats with this injury. If anyone knows any execises to work around this, or a way to accelerate healing it would be greatly appreciated. ThanX

WB,

I don't have a lot of advice other than work through it. I have the same problem all the time. I load up on Ibuprofin 800mgs or Bextra what ever is convienient and let it do its thing. It hurts like hell but I guess that is the price we pay. Either way given enough time you should get through it.

I had this really bad in my wrist/forearm for about 3yrs until a year ago. It was only aggrivated by barbell or curlbar curls. So, I dropped those from my routine and do everything with dumbells for bi's now. I get the occassional spike feeling when spotting ppl but thats it. My advice is to just forget about what aggrivates it or try an alternative technique to it.

Here's a thread that I started that will definately show you how many of us can relate.

Some people recover with passing time and very little rest. I was hoping that would have been my case. However, I needed rest, ice, and a doctor's prescription. Listen to your body and don't tax it too much if it's asking for rest. I'll never make that mistake again.

ThanX PwrMachine! Very helpful thread. Hows your bodybuilding efforts going? Very impressive stats the last I saw them. Keep up the hard work!

Know what you mean. Cant expect to lift thousands of pounds each day without some type of pain. Definately trying to work through it, but at the same time not rip my tendons off the bone haha. As much as Id like to do heavy barbell rows and lat pulldowns I should probably wait a little while. Just hope my back
doesnt shrink in the process. I still have my deadlifts though haha
ThanX

ThanX AWild. Only problem is , Im not sure how to hit my lats without aggrivating it. I can still deadlift but cant row and things of that nature. Hopefully itll subside soon. I get pain in my wrists sometimes too. Just hate having the pain right in my elbow joint. ThanX again

work around it, dont over work that ares, ice after workouts joint fuel, active release massage and stym treatment, mine is finally going away

Thanks! My bodybuilding efforts are going just fine. It takes alot longer to see PR's on size than it would to see a PR on strength. :lmao: That's gonna take some getting used to. I'll keep plugging away in hopes of packing on some muscle mass.

I'm a big believer in ART; I can't believe I just use to put up with pain. Of course, now I'm a weenie and go running to my ART guy with any little bit of pain. :D If you can, find a level 3 ART specialist - they have the most experience, and tend to specialize in athletes.

The vertigo still hits me occasionally - my ENT couldn't diagnose it, and since I can't really recreate it at will, she just advised me to quit training as soon as I feel the symptoms.

Oh well, what are you gonna do? It's happening rarely enough right now that I just pretend I'm cured and train normally.

Glad to see your making progress! Know what you mean. Strength goes up so much faster then size for me also. The way you eat and train Im sure you wont have any problem with that. Keep getting bigger and stronger
