Legit = consistently putting out good movies.
Good = critically good movies

Jennifer Hudson winning for the reason I said isn't only my opinion. You can find many many people to back me up. She's been in more than the SATC movie since then and they've all been so atrocious, it's clear she won bc that role happened to suit her, not because she acted herself in to suiting the role.

And I guess that's where we disagree. I'm basing success on how many good movies they've been in, how many roles they've had that have actually been heralded as good work, not how many movies they've been in that have made money.

Shitty movies with shitty actors make money all the time, I don't think that means the actors in it are legit. If Jennifer Lopez in shit like Gigli and Beyonce in crap like The Fighting Temptations adds to them having long, legitimate careers to you then ok.

There's a big difference between what I enjoy and what I know was a good movie. I enjoy most movies; they're for entertainment. Does that mean they're good? No. That's our disconnect.

I didn't say there are actors who've never put out a bomb of a movie. The difference between good actors and most of those you listed is that their ratio of good movies and roles to bad ones is a much better one than most of the singers' you named.
