Tapering for Track Meet....

i've been unloading for two weeks now, my training log can be found here:

http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/showthread.php?t=372361&page=3

i have a workout tomorrow, wednesday. heavy deads. it's scheduled as follows:

295 DL 3x3
125 OHP 3x3
BW+25 weighted chins 3x3

i'm thinking of dropping the volume some more on deads, perhaps to 3 singles (295 is around 90% for me). should i worry about it and do this? skip the workout completely? or go as planned?

i throw shot and javelin on thursday, discus on friday

pr'ed in shot today, 13.5m :)

You are still stuck in a program that isn't synced to your competition cycle/season. Your intensity (and its contribution to volume in this overall lower volume phase) will begin building again right about now as you work into the final 3 weeks of the 3x3 phase. It's not so much a question of one workout unless the deads are going to have such a draining effect as to not allow you to perform well.

How many upcoming meets are you doing and where will they fall in relation to your current training cycle? I'd still guess you are benefitting mostly from work on your technique rather than increasing your strength/power - do you feel this is still the case?

my technique is still iffy. i feel that it is a strength increase.

i've got another meet next week, provided that i win thursday... ofsaa in june 4th, so i want to finish intensity for that
