Take it from an older dude, they are (were) excellent. I've still got the vinyl. David Byrne is kind of a freak with a weird voice, but his music is really good.

Speaking in Tongues was the real popular album with Burning Down the House. He lists Parliament/Funkadelic as one of his major influences.
