Talked to a Doc friend of mine...

Sorry, this is VERY long. My very few posts are almost all long…

I have a friend who’s an orthopedics guy. This isn’t exactly his specialty, but here’s his take on my idea of doing a “cycle or two.” Let me know what those of you with actual experience think. If you want to save time, the last paragraph is really what I am interested in getting thoughts on…

--Very unlikely, but still at least statistically possible, that any healthy individual will cause permanent damage to liver/kidneys during 6-8 weeks of any activity (heavy drinking, light-moderate 17aa usage, or injectales). Thinks for the “general population” risks associated to kidneys/liver are overplayed with respect to steroids (non-17aa) and even moderate alcohol. Also, thinks risks associated with OTC painkillers are badly underplayed.

--Most concerning organ that one can damage is the kidneys: not too resilient. Liver is everyone’s concern, but it tends to recover better than kidneys, if given nice long breaks and can quickly repair from tremendous stress, almost 100%, if no cancer or scaring is present. These last two things CAN be induced quickly, but that is EXTREMELY unlikely. Nice thing about kidneys is they tend to scream out in pain quickly, liver tends to silently suffer. For the liver, 90% of hospital visits for this organ (whether alcohol, steroid, or toxin induced) have long-term good prospects. For the kidneys, though, a higher percentage of hospital visits are for conditions resulting in at least some permanent tissue necrosis.

--Biggest concern with is permanent damage to endocrine system. Usually damage to kidney/liver will present themselves (fluid retention, jaundice, throbbing back pain) as a result of usually first-stage correctable conditions: alcohol/roid induced hepatitis, high blood pressure, etc. Stopping immediately can halt/reverse damage at this point. Newbies will tend to stop b/c they will get scared. More experienced users, though, may have a tendency to ignore these symptioms. Endocrine system is trickier, as the damage is done and accumulates in hiding since the user is unaware of damages until OFF the cycle. Repair of endocrine system is slow at best and can lead people back to a cycle quicker than they had planned, out of desperation. Result may be that endocrine system never repairs...

If you insist on cycling, activites ranging from not so bad to horrendous:
--->Straight injectible cycle don't drink alcohol for the 8 weeks= no problem. Chances of something going wrong 1 in 1000's
--->Injectibles and "moderate drinking on Friday"= probably not too dangerous, but you obviously don't have your priorites straight. Chances of something going wrong 1 in 100's
-->Injectibles + 17AA= probably okay, but risks are up there. Chances of something going wrong 1 in 50 (he didn't like giving a "1 in" odds for this one).
-->Injectibles +17AA + T3/Insulin/GH= really better know what your doing, EASY to f' yourself up fast this way. Odds, 4 in 5.
-->17AA + alcohol or even Tylenol of any amount at anytime= extremely stupid. Odds, wasnt sure, but figured at least 4 of 5 five people would fuk themselves up. Said polypharmacy= very bad. Liver only likes one toxin at a time...

All this sounded pretty good to me really, but his recommendation is: don’t do it. Reasons: probably won’t achieve what I want, “just a couple cycles” isn’t the reality as it becomes addictive in a way, will quickly become dissatisfied with results from safer cycles and venture into more dangerous territory (ie: longer cycles, stronger roids, ignoring warning symptoms), best case scenario is: I would make good gains/modifications in the short term that would be exceptionally difficult to maintain w/o roids in the long term…

this sounds good . The doc did not even factor in the use of sups like ALA, tyler liver detox, cranbery extract etc...

He basically outlined a possible worst case senerio where you would be taking stuff and drinking. I have not had a drink in a year!

It is true that you will not be satisfied with results after a first cycle, but it's up to YOU to decide to increase dosages and stay on longer.

if we do time on = time off , Low to moderate dosages with all the sups, and cycles at 10 weeks the longest, we should be fine, or atleast minimize the risks as much as possible.

Good read bro. But if he would look at the people who have done his ample cycles there, he would see his probablities are even overplaying the dangers 4 out of 5 people will fuck themselves up on an oral and injectable cycle? The real world numbers just don't reflect this. But he does seem to have a fairly open mind, which is commendable.

Yeah, I did ask him about ALA, Milk Thistle, Tyler's, etc. He reminded me that he really has no clinical experience dealing with people on steriods for "cosmetic reasons" (lol). Only text book and what he learned durring his residency at an ER. He perscribes steriods for various injuries, but says he has no real concerns about toxicity at those dosages, so he has no idea if detoxifiers offer any benefit. His final suggestion, with all homeopathic remedies, was "don't plan on them saving your life. Just assume you have to play smart, and if they help then that can just be an added bonus..."

Since I was trying to decide if I want to do this he was describing situations I might encounter (maybe I'd drink once or twice, maybe I'd try 17AA's eventually, maybe I'd try insulin+GH). I insisted that I would NEVER do any of those kind of risks. He asked me how long ago it was that I swore I'd never try steriods. He made a good point, if I decide to do this I have to understand upfront what I really can/cannot do...

A nice post & a clever doctor too. I wish mine was the same.

I have decided to do injectables only. I dont drink alcohol so thats no problem.

Im not sure about the last paragraph. I started off with heavy cycles - d-bol, Anadrol (3/day) etc & now with continued education I am starting to do milder cycles & use clomid etc. All this will help me keep my gains & hence be able to have larger amounts of time off gear.

well the majority of doctors are never going to say anything positive about roid use, and your friend doctor is a prime example, did you ever ask him about the guy who has been using anabolics for 44 years straight.........bro dont ever ask a fuckin doctor about roids unless he prescribes them or advocates their use, all your gonna get is they cuase long term damage that is not known and have ill side effects on the organs of the body! The average way out on answering questions on roids, most doctors dont know what the fuck they are talking about anyway, mis-diagnoses, all omnicient attitudes and downright ludacris shit like snorting cocaine and taking pain killers while doing surgerys, and denying patients medication while they obtain the medicine for personal use!!!!!!! Why do you ask doctors such shit?

I obviously couldn't see things as clearly as you do...
