take from Dial_tone thread---how much do you spend each month on living expenses?

Im starting a new job soon (lower pay) and I have some debt I need to pay off so I need to budget better. Im not going to use credit cards this month and see how well I do. Here is a link from yahoo! today with cash vs credit cards

Yahoo!

my auto insurance is $100 a month
health insurance $120 a month
cable $50 a month
gym membership = $25

Im going to give myself (single male) $600 and hope it covers everything, from gas to food, to drinks to buying a new pair of sneakers, movie rentals or anything, cutting back on eating out too.

does anyone use cash only? credit cards make it so easy to spend and plus when your out of money you are out of money etc.

does anyone give themself a limit on how much they spend? tips or suggestions

This is EF bro

Everyone makes over 100K

Debt is no problem here
Neither is cawk size

mortgage, insurance, bills w/o groceries,cars approx $3K
groceries, gas, meals out, close to another grand...

$600 sounds pretty light to me.

I don't even think about it
it makes me depressed
It
doesn't help living in higher cost area
and being a business owner with a shiatty economy

Im going light to put more money towards debt I owe and lived on gov cheese most of life anyways. I should be fine.. I was spending out of control a yr ago... I have 12k in credit card debt. my goal is be debt free by May 1st 2009 with no back tax owed either
