Fucking represent, you punk.

na your right bro..I see it now...the plates just line up so close and smooth its hard to see the divides in them.....nice bro 425 is pretty dame good.

let me ask though is it good to use a inside the legs grip like that....is that better as far as form??? I use a out side of the legs over under but I like the looks of how you do it how ever grip is my problem when I get up around 400 or more.

Assplant.. where do you work out at?
local small hardcore gym
bunch of juicehead bb cop/parole/prison guards
big prison near by
never see them sq or dl

need my stance is wide so there's no way i could use a outside group
i think the rule is narrow stance outside, sumo stance inside

I am going to try that tomorrow and see how much I can do that way.but is there a way to do a over under that way????

nice gamby

I can't dl with a belt. I put a belt on and I can't break the floor, but if I do manage to break the floor the lockout is way easier. so I just rock out sans belt. conventional style btw. I cant figure out my problem.

oh yeah, that's how i do mine
i should mix it up more
and do you have chalk? makes a world of difference

good shit! respek.

you're pretty strong for your size bro

last time i maxed was 405 x 8, 2-3 months ago (straps, no belt)

now i only use 315 as my last set, i like to squeeze and move slow

ifuckinglovedeadlifts

getting your lower abs/pelvic floor to fire along with your hips. when i tell a newbie to try and slam his hips forward, like he's gonna fuck the bar, they can pick up on that concept pretty easy....

critique my form...

dudes who have used both methods, is there a difference between outside and inside? i grip just outside my knees and scrape the shit outta them (snatch grip)

you mean between sumo and conventional? sumo is more glutes and hips I think.

Smurfy said:
do you guys growl when you deadlift?
lol i was hoping nobody was gonna notice my gaye ass growl
i try to dl when no one is around

string_bean00 said:

probably, because my lower/mid back has exploded from doing these shizzles

i think inside grip allows me to get under the bar more...my shins are all scraped up and bloody
outside strains my shoulders too much
IMO

both hands over the bar?
overhand grip. but far out. my thumb is past the outer ring by 2 inches or so. i stand on 100lb. plates and load the bar with 35's. i don't think there is a longer range of motion for a compound movement. it's beyond an ATF SQ.

your form was fine. at first, i could only hear the lifts. and i thought you might be bouncing the bar, on account of your speed. but you let the weight die each rep, which i think is most important. and whenever someone questions me on why, i ask them to try it. just don't rush your reps, which can happen when you get those bigger weights and want to hurry thru the reps.

isn't that called a romanian dead? i have never figured those out

i try to speed up, slight pause on the ground, and speed back up...never bouncing though.
working in a light speed dl day has helped me with quickness...

romanian DL's are in league with SLDL's. i'm almost as compact as you can get. and they'd just be called snatch grip deadlifts. snatch grip as in olympic snatches? i pull from the very top of my feet to past my belt. i love them and have made great gains using them. it's an overcompensation. like doing partials with more weight than you could usually handle. but i'm using a ROM that goes further on either point. and i do front squats and zerchers, too. i love the old, hardcore lifts. i usually have a blast lifting cuz i get more than a few people interested in trying these goofy lifts at least once....i'd love to get some of those huge sandbags and do bearhug squats...

yeah i like the old school meat and potatoes stuff as well
hack squats, gm's, overhead sq's...always get strange looks

sick lift guy. i bet newbz look at you funny when you throw on all that weight

405lb isn't that uncommon with those do DL on the regular

but usually the n00b kids in the gym will stare at me (or anyone else for that matter) when stacking 4 plates

i love it haha

in all humbleness, my back looks like it should be at 500lbs by now

that's bodybuilding as opposed to power lifting

i still love it haha

i was hesitant to post this, on account of all the strong mofos on here thinking i was trying to brag up a medicore lift...anything under 5bills is not that impressive IMOb
but i think it's respectable for a ligthweight natty

the first time I dled 405 for a single I developed quite the strut. good days.

no i agree 100%, i've only done 2 prohormone cycles, but didn't start deadlifting until 1 year after the end of my last cycle...i started maxing around 315 x 8 and worked up pretty quickly

so i progressed through DL's natty, but once I'm on something I expect nothing less than 500lbs

still, your lift is pretty impressive for being natty all your life

good shit

i thought you were more of a seasoned juicer...

Damn good lifts bro.....I use the conventional inside grip....feet just outside my shoulders......It would burn my damn hip joints up with as wide a stance as you use......form wise I like to arch my back a bit at the top with a bit of a shrug for the shoulders....but I'm lifting lighter with higher reps......

you can do it either way- depends on your body type and what you're more comfortable with.

I have longer legs (for my height) and find sumo (hands inside the legs) to be easier, although i don't usually deadlift that way.

gambino- you tired out and brought your ass up too fast, although you're keeping the weight pretty close to yourself, which is good.

yeah, agreed.
i stood up too quick on a few of those...that's how injuries happen.

i read and read and read and have friends who let me design their cycles

i am holding off on my own "real" cycle

soon.

although I lol @ people because i've made more progress on two prohormone cycles than people have off the "real" juice

there's a guy who does sumo grips at my gym. Not familiar with the mechanics of it, but he says he can lift more that way. I've tried it and am weaker sumo-style than with a snatch grip, that could be form-related but am unsure.

Good luck man. I've been draping a single cooked string of spaghetti to each end of the bar every week so I pyramid up gently without risk of injury.

agreed, looked like he was doing rack lockouts practically,

not tryin to be a hater though ;P

Ok, well I'm starting off a little ahead of you. I've used fettuccini. But I like where you're coming from.

whatever you can do to get the weight up (within safe means)
i've seen some strong mofos use traditional stance...it's all preference and bodytype

your still really strong bro, dont get me wrong, i was just trying to figure it out why the ROM didnt seem nearly as much as im used to seeing, then i realized ur going sumo.

id probably suck sumo style

meh, average plus for somebody who trains
the single i'm working up to should be over 500 and that's really all that matters
i just posted this to back up my claims, some where in doubt

i sq really wide too
i just feel that i get more lower body in going wider

I don't feel right if I have my feet more than shoulder width. Probably wouldn't hurt to train both ways, get stronger.

i go outside the knees and get so deep its almost a squat/deadlift. at my bottom point, my knees are nearly @ 90 degrees

me to bro..I have yet to make a vid for scotsmen I am trying to get a camera.I think is I gt wider I can get more on the bar but I dont want to try it till a know exactly how to do it and if I will be able to do it...I am lifting big weights on the squat.

Don't expect to get more right away. The movement takes some adjustment and getting used to, just like switching to a wides stance squat from a close stance squat. Your numbers will be down at first.

Too often people try to lift sumo style even though traditional would suit them much better.

ya I tride gambinos inside grip on my dead lift to day and I fucking hated it. :worried: I have to have a wide grip for some reason.prob because my shoulders
are so dame wide....

I always use a shoulders width apart stance on both my squat and my dead but i was thinking the other day that I could get more weight by going wider on the squat because I would have less distance to go and my legs are short...I have not tride it yet but I did try the wide stance ob the dead lift and on the lower weights I loved it but once I got up over 400 I hated it.

i'm about 5'9"

I'm 5'10" and it never felt "natural" to me, the sumos. That being said, front squats didn't either until I pushed through the learning period. :)

think about it, if you were doing the splits the bar wouldn't have to move at all...plus it seems to place more emphasis on the lower body, particularly the ass and hammys (which has always been my strong part)

a wise old school oly lifter told me that front or back squats should never feel natural, should always be a bit akward
i'm fuggin weak big time on fronts, never figured out the snatch grip

I went to the snatch grip out of necessity. The alternating grip on deads just exacerbated my tendonitis.
