sweet cravings, after eating???

Does anyone else get cravings for something sweet after they eat, you know desert style? EVERY time, I eat savory, I want something sweet... pisses me off! I ignore it most times, but when I give in, usually it's dark chocolate.
Lately the last few days it's been ice cream, a whole galon in 3 days, mocha almond fudge....yummmmmmm... I'm not pms.. not preggo, not anything, I have no excuse.
1 cheat just does not cut it for me. funny thing is I look leaner now than I did 3 or 4 days ago.
So my question: are there any really good hard candies, sugar free maybe, but w/o aspartame out there? anyone have any suggestions? thanks

Yeah sure do... flavored Peanut Butters :p :chomp:
They should solve your sweet tooth alright... the cinnamon raisin tastes like a cookie, the chocolate taste like frosting, the vanilla cranberry is just deeeeeeeeelicious, and several others around here seem to like the white chocolate as well :D

I have never seen them, what/ where?

This is so funny, I am exactly the same.

You might find that hard candies (w/ or w/o aspartame doesn't matter) don't do it for you as it's the sugar + fat (ice cream, chocolate) that works.

I eat sweet potato like it's going out of fashion - I convince myself it's like dessert with my chicken. Also fat free dressings are generally sweeter, particularly mayo.

But thanks to SBT, I've found the ANPB with white chocolate. It's like eating cookie dough. A couple of tablespoons at my 3pm sugar craving and then maybe after my final meal really do the trick. That's a lot of PB but it's helping me wean off the sugar.

I'm trying to get them to ship it to me in Australia. I want the dark chocolate version too.

You can also try things like ....

Sug Free Choc pudding, with lite cool whip
fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries) with lite cool whip

There is also a candy called "Nips" and they make a SF version - they are a hard exterior with a soft, melty inside & they come in Caramel/PB, Choc/PB, etc......2 of them are about 60 cals & they take a while to eat.....

The NF/SF puddings are good too.....

There are no macros or ingredients provided on the site that I can find. Does someone mind posting these for the flavors they have?

I can then decide if I want to have these closeby or not ;) I'm tempted to hit up their actual storefront in NYC when I head up there next. But then I'm not sure how much damage I'd do :worried:

They are YUMMY!! And since they take a while to eat - it gives your mouth something to do for a bit......

Roony - I only have the macros for the Cinn Raisin PB.....you should be able to get it @ Whole Foods or the Exton Giant (I think)......now there's sugar in it, etc - so it's not as "good" as plain ole ANPB

1 tblsp of Cinn Raisin = 80 cals, 5.5g fat (1g sat), 6.5g carb, 3g protein

Hey Roons... they are the same or pretty darn close to all natural peanut butter except the carbs are about 3-5 higher depending on the flavor :)

If I do.. Not much now with all the supps I take! I make sure I always have sugarfree strawberry jelly! Put a few strawberries in there whole or cut in half.. BAM!! I'm cured.. ;)

A good snack:

ritz wheat crackers.....pbutter and a touch of sugar free jam

i'm totally supplement free, still nursing a baby, but he's 2.5 so i'm not his only food source. artifical sweetners dont like me, they actually make my liver hurt, so, much moderation if i eat any. i'll be going on a limb for the sugar free nips!!!

i think i'm going to have to bump up the will power and go thru some withdrals. i feel better when i dont eat sugar, thats for sure.

shadow.. the pbj rits sound really good...
i have been logging in fit day, my fat macros are sometimes too high, i eat alot of avocado, and evoo...i have to keep in it check, so yes AT LEAST 30% fat. If anything sometimes I get too carb low, sweet potato brown rice and veggies , no breads really or white starchy stuff. I don't get hungry and crave just food, I eat every two hours about between 2-300 cals sometimes more. maybe it could be a vitamin defficency? chocolate= iron? minerals?

:insane: Crazy SBT called me??? It goes beyond crazy...I have had splenda on the palm of my hand and lick it...That is beyond crazy SBT...I know I need a :doc:

Plug daily values in there to get accurate macro and micro numbers

I used to get (and still do) get sugar cravings after meals. There is no real trick except to just not eat it. I find with sugar (as with any other substance), once you stop for a while, the body stops craving it.

I know a lot of ppl that did the Atkins (yes stupid diet) and once they stopped all sugar, they never craved anything sweet, not even fruit!
I am a sugar-a-holic and once I stopped for 2 weeks, I never really craved it. I do have some sweets, but nothing near what I used to.
So I guess the best bet, ween yourself off.

I've been using fitday for months, thats how i know I'm either dead on or go over... more so going over. I'm just going to have to suck it up.
.. will power, withdrawls.. I need to cut back.. this last weekend with a whole galon of ice cream was the last straw. I'm a NEW WOMAN!!!

since you are using fitday - it is easy to check your micro levels on the vitamins and minerals as I suggested earlier to ensure that you don't need to supplement those.

How many cals per day are you eatng and what are the macro splits??

Since you are tracking - just post up a sample day

Sugar free Hot chocolate, splenda and cinammon mixed in frozen natural PB, Frozen yogurt, sugar free jell-o and you can add light whip cream on top or beat up egg whites with splenda into a meringue and top it on fruit or SF jell-o, or SF pudding. At least u can get some added protein with it. Or Freeze the individual SF pudding or SF jell-o containers.. takes longer to eat when they are frozen. Or dip fruit like a banana in SF pudding and you can sprinkle chopped nuts or coconut on top and freeze it.
I have found freezing anything takes longer to eat and usually I will eat less of it and it curbs the appetite. Try freezing whip cream.. that's good also. Mix in baking cocoa powder into the whip cream before u freeze it.... O.k. that's all I can think of right now.

this is three days... WAY all over the board... I pick the three worst days I could find, because it seems to be pretty consistant lately. I'm not trying to get all shredded, if anything I'd like to put on a few pounds of muscle. I have been eating this was since I stopped competing, seasons over for me.
I'd just like these craving to stop..... but anyway my cals naturally dropped since I don't require so much fuel. I was up to 3000+ per day. so whatever you can see great... nothing, great too. I'll figure it out eventually.

Egg white: 272 29 2 22

I assume that means:

272 cals

29 fat
2 carbs
22 protein

If so - then something is drastically wrong.......egg whites contain ZERO fat

Apple, raw 125 1 32 0

First number = cals

2nd number - fat grams
3rd number - carb grams
4th number - protein grams

check on the serving sizes you are entering into the fitday matrix......those numbers are correct on some of the foods you have listed - like the egg whites
