Sustanon, Deca and Drug Tests

Lots of UK athletes fail nandolone tests, Dougie Walker, Mark Richardson, Linford Christie, Greg Rusedski, as well as several Dutch and Spanish footballers. They all claim supplement contamination. If it was steroid abuse you'd think they know not to take Deca if facing tests.

Most sites I read suggest that Deca clears the system in 12-18 months and that Test blends clear (Sustanon included) clear in 3-4 months.

But as 2 amps of Sus contains contain 200mg of Deca, as much as a 2ml Deca amp, why would the Sust clear the system so quickly?

Is this what could be catching people out? Or is their some reason that Deca clears the system faster when part of a Test blend?

Sust contains 100mg testosterone decoanate (along with the other esters) while deca is nandrolone decoanate. Nandrolone is much easier to pickup in a screening so it's detection time is longer.

Testosterone is produced naturally so in order to determine its use, a lab has to test for free testosterone and epi-testosterone and compare the ratio. It is normally 1:1 and anything above 6:1 is suspicious.

BALCO was getting around this by having athletes inject a mixture of test and epi-test so the ratio stays normal.
