One more thing about all this... Here are some of the keys to controlling acne:
1. Keep the layers of dead skin from building up. (This is where alpha hydroxy, glycolic, and other fruit acids come in - they slough off the dead skin). Keeping the live layer on top improves the appearance - it also helps fight dryness.
2. Don't use too much moisturizer in the morning, as dirt will collect on it and clog your pores.
3. You need to keep your face clean to prevent bacteria from getting a stronghold.
4. Killing the bacteria can be done with benzoyl peroxide, guggolbolic, oral antibiotics... But, this stuff can really dry out your skin.
5. Again, acid skin peels help in fighting dry skin, but you can overdo it... Moisturizer at night might help.
6. Avoid alchohol containing products as they dry you out.
7. Make sure any products you use are "noncomedogenic" - that means, "won't clog your pores".
8. Try microdermabrasion. It aggressively takes off the top few layers of skin and can lessen the appearance of acne scars.
9. Try a loofah sponge when you wash your face - it scrapes off the dead skin.
10. I know way too damn much about this shit to be macho! But, if you're lookin' good - it's easier to get laid. Period.
