I once had my jaw busted. Someone hit me with their fist and when I went down, witnesses said he kicked me in the head. So I don't know what it was that broke my jaw, the punch or the kick. I won't say that that incident proves I can't take a punch. Maybe I can, maybe I can't, but that incident is too muddled to take away a definitive answer.
As far as body shots are concerned, I once broke a guys rib with a straight punch. At the time I didn't have the slightest idea on how to throw a hook, so I just used a straight punch. It was awkward as he was shorter than me. From that I learned ribs break easy. At least I think they do, though if anyone else disagrees, feel free to chime in. I also like the idea of body shots in some but not all circustances as there are no lingering marks that can be photographed and presented as evidence as there would be on a face. Then again, maybe there would be bruising, but to most people the bruising would be covered up by clothing and thus inconspicuous.
