....you go to the dentist and get yourself a nice couple of veneers up front and a bleaching thing done. Let's say the whole thing cost like $600 and you're really happy with how it all turned out.

So two weeks later the dentist calls you and is putting together a video to be shown to prospective cosmetic patients. He wants an hour or so of your time to basically sing his praises into a camera.

You'll get no money for this and it has to be done during business hours, so you'll need to take time away from work.

Would you do it?

That was the odd part. I'm not friends with the guy or anything, but I'm surprised that he not only offerred zero compensation (even in the form of a free checkup or something), but he also expects me to take time off work to do it (which, as a contractor, costs me money, not just loss of PTO).

So I'm thinkin', what is this?? Russia?? Nyit I say!!

He's proud of his work...you should be happy that he obviously did a great job... I've seen some pretty awful lookin veneers. Don't do it if it is inconveniencing you, try asking him to do it when you are available. I'm in that field so I know the gratification they feel seeing a job well done.
