sUNTANNING AND tATTOOS?????

okay this might be a stupid question but I got a a fresh tattoo done a couple days ago, and my question is if I cover it up with a bandage and go suntanning(tanning salon) will it harm the tat??

I would wait a week post tat to go to a salon. If you must then you had better have it well covered. Even after it heals you must keep sunblock on it every time you tan or are in the sun otherwise it will fade like crazy and have to be redone in a year or so.

Didn't the shop give you a card with the after care directions on it? A fresh tattoo is basically an open wound and will be damaged if burned by the sun or a tanning bed.

after i got my tattoo, they said not to let it get ANY sun for at least two weeks (or longer if you had a lot of bleeding and scabs formed.) After the two weeks, they said to use suncreen on your tat for at least a month afterward and moisturize multiple times a day.
Personally, i still put on sunscreen when tanning even after four years bc the harmful rays can make the color fade faster....at least thats what i was told. so just becareful and put on lots of moisturizer.
