Suits

I love suits. Anyone know a site that sells nice suits, something I could wear on a semi-dressy occasion and still look appropriate.

Right now I only have 2 suits. One black wool, basic dressy, and one light brown with white pin stripes. The brown one is 3 piece, but I don't wear the vest. It's a pretty cool looking suit and more for casual wear. Both are non designer.

youd prolly have to go into a store to get one, its the best way to get the right fitting one

marios prolly has somethin good

i know that armani and hugu boss make some good ones i think

nordstrom rack... else hit up rodeo end of season...

Well I thought about that, but really the only place where I could buy suits around here is Filene's or JCPenny's and I don't know if I would consider buying one at either of those places. I was thinking of buying online and then just bringing it to my tailor.

buying a suit online is pretty sketchy, I'd truly recommend going into an upscale retailer first to find out what you like.. then look for it online if you must. Nordstrom Rack and Off Sacks are the best places to get suits though. Approx 50% off retail, which is quite significant on a 1k suit.

"and now i'm rollin' down rodeo with a shotgun, these people ain't seen a brown skin man since their grandparents bought one."

sorry couldn't resist :D ;)

If you can get to a jcpenney try to in the next few days. I saw in yesterday's paper the ad for the current sale. The suits are 40 to 50% off depending on brand. Since this store has athletic cut and suit separates I have to go. My drop is more extreme than athletic so I'll dig into the separates. You could take a look on jcpenney.com.

boss makes some nice suits, but their normal clothing lines are far from cool

Whatcha talking bout?

could you be a little more descriptive on why you think they suck? I know the cuts aren't the greatest but I have most of my stuff tailored anyhow.

Listen - This is the way I see the suits
1. Nice ones cost MONEY
2. Ok, so like most of us, money is tight.. Here are some suggestions. DO NOT buy suits off the internet. Yes, you can get a good one but the chances are VERY slim.
3. Some of the best pics I see for suits - Buy suits at the end of seasons, Bloomies, Nordstrom etc. They pretty much GIVE suits away at the end of the season and usually you can get good deals and coupons and stuff. Plus they usually have decent return policies - etc.
4. I always see GREAT deals on suits at outlet malls. By me we have Woodbury Commons has everything (armani, gucci, versace, boss, saks, bloomingsdales, prada) and I am amazed how cheap
Also check - Filenes Basement/Loehmans
Hope this helps

boss makes good shit all around, shirts is good too

pants

if you want somethin better go armani but theres hella lot more brands out there

didn't mean to sound too harsh on my boy hugo :P I just don't like their casual lines AT ALL. Their shirts and pants have horrid high rise fits, and they use boring fabrics. I DO, however, like their suits. They totally redeem themselves in that dept. They are also a large secondary store provider... which is NEVER good for a label. Once Ross and TJmax carry too much of your label, kinda ruins the upscale appeal.

LOL

i am with paulo here

i like hugo and if they have at it tjmaxx and i see something i like i will get it

i need to save bread when ever i can

plus it will look better on me then the noraml tj maxx shopper so i dont worry at all

u can find some winning makes at tj... i'm talking about reputation. If you sell too much merchandise at a second market retailer like that, it detriments company image. I'd rather wear a well cut express shirt than a 50% discounted hugo shirt...

i shop at tjs, but i know what you mean. i see a lot of people wearing clothes that are from there and it makes me not want to wear those brands. now it seems like they are overloaded with thug brands like outkast, fubu, sean john, etc.
