Is this odd???

I sent off my suit deposit, which has been confirmed as being received. And she told me that she will be sending fabric samples to me by the end of this week or by this weekend..... :worried:

My comp is 8/27 & this seems awfully to be cutting it close. Or am I just being a worry wart??

I received my suit 10 days before my 1st competition.

Well I guess it just doesn't take that long to sew something so little.....

It just seems to be cutting it close, IMO....but I guess the seamstress knows best.....

all depends on her schedule Jens. I had to send in a deposit to get on my girls calendar and then she set out two days to complete my suits. She was super busy and works on schedule only. She said it only takes a day to construct the suit and a day for the stones to set.

If she says she can have it done, then I'm sure she can. Make sure you remind her that you are right about a month out and you need to be certain she will have it to you at least 10-14 days before to make sure that all is a go. Sometimes there are alterations that need to be done (I think Sassy had this problem)

I would be hella worried right now too.. LOL

Well the deposit got me on her schedule -- got a VM from her last nite that she's had it.....

Still waiting on some prices for other styles.....guess I'll send her a reminder email about those prices + the date again....

Plus I've got to book a hotel room & send in my comp fees, etc...

Worried?? Naaaah!! LOL :worried:

You need to stay on her but not be annoying. At least get the schedule. Because you have to deal w/ mailing times, etc. The girl doign my suits needs 8 weeks lead time. She doesn't do it full time but this is the height of competition season and it all depends on her schedule.

Yep -- I don't want to peeve her off!! LOL I guess I could leave her a message saying I got her message & just want to make sure this all fits into her schedule....

Another question -- I'm going to use my figure 2 piece for my BB evening show suit. Does the morning suit (undecorated) HAVE to be the same color??

Saw a few on ebay that might work for me.....

Nope. Just needs to be plain.

I thought you weren't goign to do BB as well.

At the Sept 24th show I'll be doing Figure + BB......

Jens.. do you have a BB routine? Have you been working on mandatories? I played with it a little and I must tell you its damn hard to condition your body to hold a pose for long amts of time. If you plan on doing BB you need to start this ASAP.

I plan on mentioning it tomorrow to Fred.....like, HEllloooooo??? Posing practice???? LOL

Got 2 songs I like too for posing music that I "sort of" practice to on my Ipod.

The double bi pose is helping me get a nice peak on my biceps. ;)

I was too chicken shit to try bb the first go round.. LOL

I lost way more muscle than I expected... Though I believe my body looks better posed than in a figure stance i just didn't have the whole package.

I will also do BB next year for my first comp ... ;)

For BB you need the following:

AM Judge:
All your mandatories:
- front double bi
- rear double bi
- lat spread
- may call a front lat spread
- side tri
- side chest
- abs & thighs
- calves

60 sec routine - no music.

Night show:
- Mandatories
- Call outs
- Individual routine - 90 sec + music

OOh!! Thanks for posting that Sass!!

I am actually gonna start working on my posing routine in a few months for next year. My quads lock up something fierce when i flex them... ouch! need to get my body used to holding a pose.

LOL Flexing my quads make my left knee hurt....

Sass - yep it's a NPC show and my trainer works with this show/promoter, etc regularly.....so I'm sure he's aware....he'd better be!! LOL

another figure gal mentioned to me that the suits are made in order of date of competition- not when they recieve your check. She suggested giving an earlier comp date than the actual date so you definitely have it time- just a thought :)

Sorry Jen I dont mean to pick -- but you are takign on a pile of work to prepare for this show if you figure you need to be in competition shape in 3 weeks and 1 week to deplete. In addition to learning 2 different styles of posing plus 2 routines. Its a lot. In addition to just completing the part of getting into competition shape. In addition to just getting up on stage.

Just my opinion. I think you're spreading yourself too thin for a first show. Not to additionally mention the fundamental differences in physique required for women's BB & figure.

But as I said, just my opinion. I totally support & applaud your efforts and you go girl & all that :)

I know you're not picking -- all your info is SO very helpful to me!! Yes, it is a lot!! I see Fred today & we're going to have a talk, see what's what....

The only reason I'd really like to do the 8/27 show is just to get out on stage - and provided I don't get laughed off the stage or fall down, then I'm ok with that. Oh and the 8/27 show is just Figure -- BB is 9/24......

I appreciate your input.....
