Suicide.

Nah. Don't give your enemy the sense of satisfaction.

And if you need a reason to stick around, go to childreninternational.org and sponsor a kid for $15 a month. And now you can't commit suicide because that poor kid depends on you to get proper nuitrician and medication.
 
I think in certain war situations suicide would be a better alternative than being a pow. If you were a German solider in WW2, and you were facing Russian captivity, you would have been much better offing yourself...

What exactly did the russians do that was so bad?

Being a prisoner int he Congo can be pretty bad. Sometimes they skin you alive. They reckon that a skilled skinner can get all of your skin off without you blacking out or dying.
 
Why not just fight back until they have to kill you...?

That would suck to be skinned alive and not die. Germany of course invaded Russia, killing many civilians, soliders, and pows. Russia was pretty pissed and didn't treat German pows very good, most of them died of starvation, cold, or disease. The ones who surivied were sent to prisoner camps were many of them died. That would have been shitty as well to be a American in a Japenese camp...

I reckon I would prefer to be a PoW..........at least that way you have a chance at survival. I guess the Germans had it coming........Russia got hit pretty bad in that war.
 
yeah man, I'd proly rather be a pow as well...gives you some chance...russia got fucked up, germany got completely crushed.
 
I think there is a time when someone can so strongly believe things that make them want to commit suicide, that it makes sense in their head. But there never a saine moment in this precious life to make a permenant fix to a temporary problem be the right solution. It is the most selfish thing a person can do.

How come nobody does a cool suicide? Like rolerblading into an oncoming semi, going parachuting and purposely not deploying your parachute or riding a bike off a skyscraper. There hasnt been an original suicide in decades.

No bro, their is some fairly cool sucides out there. Jumping off bridges and shit, fairly hardcore, fairly ballsy. A dude from my town climbed a 490 foot cell tower and dove off the top. I thought that was somewhat cool, as far as suicide goes. Cobain's suicide was pretty cool, from a depressed rock star point of view. Cemented his legend for sure...

Oh yeah, that was kind of original but way too dramatic IMHO. He had multiple wounds too. Took him several pokes to pierce the chest cavity.

and yes, his suicide was beautiful knife to teh heart, purely poetic. BTW, he had some small drug issues that increased his depression/dependency.

it makes sense to me all too often... but usually the tunnel vision goes away and you can see how it affects those around you.
 
well a cool sucide doesnt happen muchsince the person killing themselves are so strung out and fucked up mentally they are not worried abut looking cool oin the 5 o clock news

they just want to end it

i will be 100% i have thought hard about sucide no lies bro.....i never went though with it since it would the others around me too much

i was on some pres drugs that fuck with ur mind too and had warnings about suicide

Then by all mean, anytime is great for a suicide!! Hell, I'd do it if I didn't believe the stuff above, but alas I do :(
 
I suppose there is some occasion where it's right. I'd rather take a bullet than get eaten by a shark. I'd rather not be a vegetable either.
I don't believe it life after death at the present time, so all that apparent nothingness makes it a negative option.
 
It makes complete sense.

"Suicide is not something we choose; it happens when the pain we feel exceeds our resources to cope with that pain".
 
Maybe the entire reason people abhor suicide is that it reminds them of the permanence of death, and it is the ultimate in rebellion and lack of conformity. I tend to think that most people are not attached to any people in particular... just the company of certain specific types of people in general.

I don't think I will be killing myself anytime soon, because I have too many goals right now.
 
I've seen what it does to those that it leaves behind. I would never put the ones that I love through that. That may be the ultimate form of rejection. Kind of like telling your family, especially your kids that they are not worth living for.
 
there are many times i thought i had hit rock bottom and then realized i could go even further down... and sometimes i went back up.... no one knows what the future holds. usually it's the smarter people who can rationalize susicide... doesn't mean it is wrong or right.... just saying the smarter you are the easier you can rationalize things.
 
If anyone is really considering it, you should go see or recall the movie Castaway. Not for anything that happened on the island, but for the monologue afterwards by Hanks, after he is rescued and is recovered.
 
If you are really thinking about it, I suggest you rent Cast Away. Not for what happened on the island, but for Hanks' characters take on it after his rescue.
 
I tried it when I was 18 and didn't succeed.
It was an eye opener.
I would imagine that a lot of people would argue what happened as a reason to believe in fate, God, religion, etc - but I suppose I'm stubborn and don't see it that way.

That said, I've lost the desire to kill myself and now just have the desire to be better than everyone. That is a broad concept, so I mainly just focus on money.

I read an article in the New Yorker about peopel who commit suicide by jumping off the Golden Gate bridge. Apparently it is a very popular way to go.

Think is, lots of people survive.

When interviewed a large majority of the survivors realized during freefall that they indeed DIDN'T want to die and are thankful to be alive.

The Niagara Falls guy feels the same way.

That's very telling evidence. Makes me NOT want to commit suicide and I wish there was a way to make this fact known to everyone who is thinking about it or about to try.
