Subject: Kicking ass

So you want to be in the military now?!?! Now I know that the current affairs of our great nation have many of you civilians up in arms and excited to join my military. Even though your intentions are well, and you might very possibly make it into the service, there are some things that we need to clear up/get straight first before we even consider you.
1) Next time you see someone (an adult) talking during the playing/singing of the National Anthem ..... kick their ass.
2) When you witness firsthand someone burning my American Flag in protest...kick their ass. If you see this on television, as many of us have, you are simply required to have a deep burning suddenly arise inside of you .... then go and kick their ass. Our Forefathers didn't intend freedom of speech to be the "get out of jail free" card for an act of a traitor.
3) Regardless of the rank they maintained while they served, pay the highest amount of respect to all veterans. If you see anyone doing otherwise, quietly pull them aside and explain how these veterans fought for the very freedom they bask in every second. Enlighten them on the many sacrifices these veterans made to make this Nation great. Then hold them down while the veteran kicks their ass.
4) If you are not in the military, DO NOT pretend that you are. Wearing Camouflaged utility uniform, (Cammies) telling others that you used to be "Special Forces", and collecting GI Joe memorabilia might have been OK if you were still seven, but now it will only get your ass kicked. (Veterans are exempt from this rule)
5) If you witness someone calling an enlisted Marine"Sir," stand
back.....the Marine will kick their ass.
6) Next time you come across an Air Force member, do not ask them "Do you fly a jet?". You are ignorant if you ask this. A Marine will be called to kick your ass. (Children are exempt)
7) Next time Old Glory prances by during a parade, get on your damn feet and pay homage to her and the military member or veteran lucky enough to carry her. Your stupid funnel cake will forgive you if you stand for 5 minutes with your hand over your heart. You might as well be throwing the funnel cake at the flag if you don't stand ..... Of course, either will earn you a severe ass kicking.
8) Don't try to discuss politics to a military member. We might vote as separate parties, but that doesn't mean we don't all bleed the same. We are, simply put, Americans. Our military Chain of Command, to include our Commander in Chief ... the President ... (for those who didn't know) is all that we acknowledge. We have no inside track on what happens inside those big important buildings where all those "representatives" meet. The military member might direct you to Oliver North. I can see him kicking your ass already.
9) "Your mama wears combat boots" never made sense to me .... Stop saying it! If she did, she would most likely kick you in the ass with them!
10) Bin Laden and the Taliban are not communists. So stop saying, "Let's go kill those Commies!!!" And stop asking us where he is!!!! Crystal balls are not standard issue in the military. That reminds me ...... if you see anyone calling those damn psychic phone numbers, let me know, so I can kick
their ass.
11) Last but not least, whether or not you become a member of my military, support our troops and their families. For EVERY Thanksgiving and Christmas that you enjoy with family and friends, there are thousands of troops overseas longing for just a taste of homemade pumpkin pie or fresh eggnog and turkey. Wanting for just one hug on a Christmas morning from a loved
one. Thank God for our military and the sacrifices they are making every day. Without them, our country would get its ass kicked

i agree with alot of what you said.. but there's some things i should say as well..

i was corpsman with the marines for 6 years.. 2 years at P.I. and 3 years with an infantry unit.. and there wasn't too many marines that could kick my ass.. in fact.. most of them thought they were bad asses when they got out of their shitty little boot camp, came to the grunts and fell out in the field and got their asses kicked by 18 y/o civilian kids while out on the town..

secondly.. there are some vets that i do not respect.. the ones who bitched and moaned throughout their whole enlistment... the ones who weaseled their way out of sea duty/deployments.. the ones who malingered constantly to get out of field ops, training, hikes, rappelling, mcree hikes, etc etc etc...

so yes.. a great deal of our vets deserve our respect... but there are some who are simply pussy ass whiners that didn't do shit throughout their enlistment yet claim to be a badass because they were marines and there are fags who skated out of every training op and mission possible that don't deserve the spit from my mouth.

Well doc, First of all "Corpsman UP" Semper Fi bro, I couldn't have made it without my corpsman. Second, What infantry unit? Third, We all have our 10% 'rs just got to push aside the shit heads for the diamonds. P.I. as a doc? Not a job I'd want, lots of pecker checkin I bet ;). Last all Marines go thru "I'm bad ass mother fucker" and whiners only last 1 term. But overall most are good Marines. I mean SEALS in the P.I. remember those turds? Never fought 1 on 1 always 4 of those fucks on one Marine or Sailor. But you take you platoon out, and they want to be a buddy buddy. Shitty little boot camp? If you never been there swabby, then you shouldn't past judgment. Be like me cracking on your Corpsman field training...

Dude, this ain't the time or place for that...stupid squid.

oops.. sorry.. didn't mean phillipines.. i was at parris island.. so believe me i know every thing y'all did in boot camp.. and i know that it really aint that tough.. as tough as some try making it out to be.. and you're right.. field medical service school wasn't about shit either.. to tell ya the truth.. neither prepared anyone for the bullshit in the grunts.. no showers for 5-14 days.. 25 mile humps.. putting up with ignorant ass staff seargents who are dumb as a fucking rock and little as second lieutenant's who think they're the shit.. actually i didn't put up with them.. i had enough clout that i could brush them off without any trouble being brought my way..

either way.. you're right.. most marines and sailors deserve respect..

now the air force.. that's another story entirely... j/k :D

What line company where you in? I was happier either in ANGLICO or Scout sniper platoons. FAST Co. also what unit were you with? Some line SNCOS are fucked, but most are squared away. 2nd Lt, if you are a good platoon sgt or Company Gunny, these guys will do anything for knowledge. I went to boot camp in 1981, was not that easy. PT was not too bad; fucking mind games pissed me off.
AHHH no showers for weeks, I loved coming out of the field and some rear with the gear fuck would look at you like you just crawled out of the sewer. I went to Jungle Environment Survival Training School in the PI for 30 days. Rained every fuckin day, God I love the field! I miss it as I am sittin here in my desk jockey job.......

you me are from different sides of the fence..

i like taking showers.. i take two a day...

the mind games only get worse once you get to with the grunts.. but you did go through their boot camp when it was a little tougher.. it's a fucking joke now.. you should see it..

Necem, you're from the same mold as those you rag on-just a different gripe. I bet your the type who think its OK to bitch as long as its directed towards a person...a bitch is a bitch is a bitch. ....No showers for days/weeks? There are far worse things to worry about on god's playground. Squid.

Showers are a luxury that I enjoy while in garrison. In the field, Kill the enemy with fire and maneuver, repel the enemy's assault with fire and close combat. Keep my Marines and Corpsman alive. That is the mission. Mind games, my job was to train people to kill and to obey my orders as if they were the word of God. Reason, in combat, I don't have time to explain why you need to dig in, wasting time means death. Some called it mind games, those responsible for 39 Marines lives, call it preservation! If a Marine wasn't bitchin, he wasn't happy.

But I digress...I raed some of your posts -your not a dick...I just wake up every morning forced to remember what my service for my country in SWA 90-91 did to me...but I can't complain.

peace out-I gotta go to the gym before I blow a gasket

um.. who's this god you speak of.. i recognize no such entity..

you're right.. i do my share of bitchin.. but i do it now.. after i've served.. i never bitched once when i was in the field or on a hike.. or on a training op..

thebigugly.. you definitely bleed green.. and that's good.. as we need more people like you in our armed forces.. me on the other hand.. i felt as though i was more intelligent than virtually anyone in command.. and should they have taken a wrong turn or led us astray at battle.. i would definitely have trouble not questioning their decisions.. as it meant my life... and the lives of my brothers..

like i said.. two different sides of the fence.. you're all about war/killing/maming/protecting/serving.. and we need that and we need you.. and i'm all about learning/experimenting/making my own decisions/freedom/equality..

Decem, no problems here bro. Life in the Corps, you either play a full game or just play a quarter then get out. I never had a problem with 4 and go Marines, Just asked for 100% during their enlistment. Love the Corps, when I hit 30 years, I guess I'll have to give her up. What do you do with a 30 year Marine? I guess I'll be a Mailman when I get out!:D

You ignored a lot of bigugly's questions. I think you should answer that man.

What is Old Glory, by the way? Pardon my ignorance...my memory fails me.

Old Glory= National ensign=American Flag my brother!

Sorry...that was stupid of me.

This may be off topic but I'd just like to mention a little story and see if you guys see anything wrong with this.

I walked in my parents house one day to find that they had taken down our American flag to make room for those novelty holiday flags. This pissed me off but I didn't want to get in an arguement. This was, until I found the flag left carelessly over a chair with part of it laying on the floor. I erupted while quickly folding the flag appropriately. I wound up in a huge arguement with my parents and to this day, they still don't see why I got so worked up.

I am not part of the military but I was a member of the cubscouts (don't laugh) for most of my childhood and they told us to respect our flag. What's worse is my friends came over and thought I was nuts for knowing how to fold it, and that I actually did.

Does no one respect the flag, anymore?

I still do. I gave my folks a class on flag etiquette, they just didn't know. Notice how after the 11th of Sept. it's cool to be patriotic, but before that, People like myself were considered zealots? I remember when some congresswoman call the Marine Corps "Extremist" Now my brothers in Camp Rhino are leading from the front!

Neither do I. I am an Agnostic bordering Atheist. I sarcastically refer to a BF as god's playground because that is what most of the hero's who die there believe they are fighting for-on all sides. It's sad that religions are the only thing keeping this world so divided right now...I'm just glad to know my Marines are still getting out of BC and thinking they are invincible enough to take on people they shouldn't. It's their fearless(&sometimes stupid) attitude and reputation in the world that let's me sleep well at night.
