Is there an advantage or disadvantage to being short in strongman style comps? Obviously, If you are short like me, 5'8", you would be a light weight, but then so would a lot of guys at 6'2". Who has the greater physical advantage, the 5'8" guy at 200lbs or the 6'2" guy at 200lbs?

That is the beauty of the many events.

Log Press and other pressing events: shorter person has advantage
Squat: shorter person has advantage
Power Stairs: taller
Tire flip: normally taller, but you can't tell
Harness pull: heavier or taller maybe

A lot of events favor the taller person but then again...most tall people in strongman aren't 200 lbs...they are 300lbs +. My last contest in the US had a squat for reps with 660. I was waiting in line to get measured up for the event and they said "ok, tall guys first." I stepped up (I'm 6'2")and the guy says "no, not you. I need the tall people."

At 6'2" and 280+, I'm almost always the smallest at every Pro show.

B_fold you are just a beast. 660 for reps. How many reps did you crank out?

Hope I am not jumpin the thread...just curious.

I did 8 in full gear. We were WAYYYY in the hole too. At least 2-3" past "depth". I think that 16 actually won it but the best before me was one rep...lol. Pretty sure I can smash that now (the 8) as I was still recovering from a torn left hamstring.
