Stronger Legs

I would think that for sprinting you would want to train explosively, with jumping type movements, plyometrics, and maybe even some cleans. It's not the strength of your leg that determines your speed, it is the speed of contraction.

Squats are still king, but I would mix in the explosive exercises.

Weight Training For Sprinters
 
Squat, squat, and squat some more. Heavy weight low reps. Lunges dont build power they build mass. Do box jumps, sled drags and pushes. Also train deadlifts, posterior chain, core strength. Do some push movements and back movements to maintain balance.
