String cheese......good or bad?

I was looking through the fridge and didn't feel like having a side dish of cottage cheese.. *ugh*.. And I found string cheese. It has 7 g of protein in one stick! When I was a kid I used to eat them up like mad and started getting white etchings on my fingernails (from calcium maybe?) I was curious if this would be good to eat if you're trying to cut fat. ;) Or maybe its too fatty? eating lean meats for lunch feels like the only real deal

It's the saturated fat (bad fat) in cheese that you want to watch for. If you're low carb dieting, it should be fine. If you're trying to eat a "clean diet", I would skip it.
 
I don't think having only *one* string cheese is that bad for you - especially if it's the low fat mozzarella cheese.....but you've got to limit the portion to just the one....cheese in moderation if you're not competing is actually good for you & provides calcium.....
