stretching devices

hey guys,
i've taken up kick boxing recently and would really love to improve flexibility especially with my high kicks. I am fairly short at 5ft 7 and can kick about shoulder height for my size at roundhouse, front kick i can kick head height but i seem to have hit a plateau with high kicking especially roundhouse and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with stretching devices and will they help me. Or does anyone have a good stretching routine which could help.
P.S. I'm a newbie here as well so wanna get to know a few peeps as i intend to be about a lot.

stretch a lot and use your belt and chairs and things around the house and you can do anything the machines can do no problem.
 
Im also around 5'7 and have had a hard time fully doing to splits ( not that its nessassary) but im pretty good at most other streches, i used a hydrolic strecher one winter and it helped by atleast 50% and i didnt use it that often. You can get these on line at about any marial art store, but you can do just as good with a partner. The good thing about the strecher is you can do it while watching tv or something.

Been reading up on the Thomas Kurz stuff and i'm really fascinated. I have been doing the dynamic stretches morning and night and in todays session i noticed an improvement already. My partner in training who is 6ft1 was suprised to see i nearly took his head off lol....thanks for the replies.
