Stretch marks.. go figure

I've been lifting for about 5 yrs with good consistant growth, and now I'm getting stretch marks???

Not that I give a crap but strange none the less, and only on my quads as far as I can tell.

hey..those stretch marks are somethin to be proud of!!! shows that hard work is definetly in place. tb

I've got some on the front of my legs right at the top where they attach to my torso, and on my ass. They don't look terrible but I don't like having them. I guess it was from all the squats, and my last growth spurt that pushed me to 6'3". Looking back though I wouldn't trade my height or my leg size for no stretch marks, they really are a badge of honor, and hard work.

I'm both proud and distraught about the new stretch marks on my biceps and delts at bicep-delt tie in. Means I'm growing which is great but it also means....eek, I'm getting stretch marks!
(girl inside me is wresting with the bb'er)

Funny coming across this thread. I just noticed my first stretch mark on the upper body. I have a few on the inside of my quad near the knee but this is the first one to appear on the upper body. Nice long one, on my left side delt.

'Tis a happy day for a hardgainer. ;) I dedicate this battle scar to all the barbells and buffets in my area, for it would not have possible without them.

Hey just a question on em - do the appear when the muscle initially grows? Or do they show when it shrinks after growth.
I quit lifting for like two months and noticed them on my legs, wondering if it was from my legs shrinking.

Stretch marks are a tear in the dermis, the deepest layers of your skin. Your skin only has a limited amount of elasticity and if there is a rapid increase in bodyfat or skeletal muscle that stretches the skin faster than it can stretch then the skin tears.
