Stressed out and a half.

I had to leave work because I'm so edgy I'm just shaking. I'm getting a call in the next 1.5 hours to let me know if my mortgage is approved and what rate it will be. I ideally need to be approved and have everything ready to go by Sunday.

The last couple of weeks have been at a frantic pace. I'm hoping to be able to calm down in the next couple of hours. It's easier to deal with a situation when you know the status of the situation. I'm not a good little "waiter". *sigh*
 
I hear yeah Raina patience is not one of my virtues either. Hang in there sister, I will keep my fingers crossed for you!
 
I spent the last hour I was there on the phone with my bank, my bf, and my dad. It seemed silly to do that on the clock.
 
I have found that hot sex accompanied by an orgasm is a good tension reliever.
I would have sex the whole time while waiting for the call, it will help you keep your mind off things.

LOL Last night I didn't want it to be so late. I just wanted something quick as Saturday is devoted to sex and pizza. But I had to get up at 5 this morning so I didn't want to be up....but alas that's just how things worked out. ;)

Good luck to ya Raina! I'll be goin' through the same DRAMA myself in about a few months... I've been trying to hold of a little b/c I have over 15K saved & want to try to have an even 20K for the house. We'll see though...whatever happens, HAPPENS! :)

And now I'm really pissed off because my bf is out at the bar with his coworkers and seems irritated that I've even called....which is BS since I just got our mortgage.

OOOOOH BOY.....you guys aren't even married and you're getting a mortgage? And he's out at the bar on this big day?

I can guess who's going to be doing all the work in THIS relationship!
 
He's a general contractor so once we start gutting the place he's going to do A LOT of physical work. Which is fine with him since I just put 20% down. It's a give and take.

Plus his boss is going out of town for 4-6 weeks tomorrow and they were having a goodbye party for him. But I'm still pissy.

I will openly admit that he's a total pain in the ass sometimes and I just want to deck him. And I'll also admit that I can be the same. But we're happy WAY more than we're not.

That's because I could put 20% down. ;)

Otherwise I'd have been in a bind! AND my monthly payments are almost $100 less a month than our apartment (that's less than half the size). Plus it's on an acre. It needs some gutting but that'll be the fun part.

I grew up moving every 2-3 years while we gutted houses. Real women know how to wire their basement. ;)

We're going to make it nice but not over the top. The plan is just to stay for 3 years or so and then sell it. We got a deal as we bought from a family friend and we stand to make good money on this once we've killed ourselves making it great!

Between PHATchik's fishing and simple fun and your wiring the house and renovating it, I would have hard time choosing between the two of you.

I guess I would have to take both of you. :D

whats your place like? i was into building before i went to uni (family business) and wouldnt mind doing a fixer upper

shame interest rates over here are around 7% on a home loan, and there was a recent MASSIVE housing boom so things are a tad overpriced

oh well, maybe in a decade..

Move to america ASAP. over here pharmacists are grossly overpaid, $40/hr is a normal wage plus the interest rates on houses are very low right now.

thats true, but the wage is similar where i am, i live on the beach without rent, and i want to start a business here in the not too distant future so ill make closer to 100/hr, and i need to maneuver a bit first :)

thanks for the heads up though, ill consider a working holiday thats for sure!
 
Congrats Raina on the mortgage!! I'm happy for you!

Remodeling a house can be a lot of hard work but it can be fun as you know.....plus what an accomplishment to say I did that!!

After my layoff I'll be on the beach surf fishing in my hip waders with a 10 ft St. Croix pole.......there's quite a few women who fish around here....
 
It's nice but it needs work. It's a split entry 1800 sq ft on an acre in St Paul. The carpet's okay just not a color I'm keen on. The first thing we're going to do is tear out everything in the upstairs bathroom-- it's dark brown and sparkly orange. No thanks. We also need to gut the kitchen and do a lot of painting.

This summer the exterior needs new paint, we need a deck, and we're going to build a garage. Thank God he's a general contracter. That makes this all a lot easier. ;)
 
well good luck Raina. I bought this house ready to move in cos I'm single and dont' have the time to do extensive renovations. however I have always thought that fixing up a house with a mate is a romantic thing to do.

also you can live in it right away right?
 
We can live in it right away but we're in a lease at our apartment for a while longer....which is actually pretty since we won't have to live in a house with a gutted kitchen and bath. ;)
 
I'm extremely jealous....

about both being up late having bundles of sex and that you're now going to be an ownder of your own home.

Be careful, it's touch to pay a mortgage AND rent every month. Did they roll in the first few mortgage payments into the loan amount so you don't have to make 2 payments.

Also talk to FreeballinDC about fixer-uppers. I just went to a party at his house and he has really spruced it up!
