Strength differences?

I lift pretty much as a bodybuilder and am pretty damn strong compared to regular people, but some of the numbers strongmen and powerlifters post are much more than I can lift. Pound for pound, the amount of weight that these guys can lift is significantly more and my question is why?1)Neuromuscular efficiency 2) Greater white to red fiber ratio 3) More efficient lifting mechanics or 4) Some other reason I am not aware of. Does anybody have any opinion on how well powerr, strongman or bodybuilder strength translate into athletic strength?

I would say the biggest difference is the style of training, style(mechanics) of the way they lift, followed by equipment, and lastly genetics. Strongman training probably translates a better for other sports since your doing odd lifts and etc. compared to powerlifting. But they both can help each other out in their training.

I agree with DBCooper. Basically they are training for different goals thereby (as Cooper said) utilizing different methods, mechanics, techniques, etc.

I'd say mechanics, followed by training (neuromuscular recruitment and a program that has enough variety to hit every fiber type), and then all the other little things.

Which style of training do you feel is most conducive to maximal overall hypertrophy?

Like wrist straps ??? Te he he :FRlol: :smash: :FRlol:

:lmao: You're a good sport.

I'm not going to suggest a certain program, but I feel like Westside worked for me because of the variety. You have high range isolated work, low range compound work, moderate range speed work...leave no stone unturned. Other programs use similar tactics though; 5x5 and DFHT come to mind.

Someone Jealous ;) . Neuromuscalr efficiency is #1 but also tendon strength and golgi apparatus sensitivity. Fiber ratio is very important, but you need to look at a mounts of scar tissue to view seemless contraction vs choppy ones.

Athletically most bodybuilder can be classified is a little better than normal, but Strongmen; they are some real athletes in that groupos since you need power, endurance, explosive strength, some coordination and plenty of moveing agility and strength

Bul-golgi = beef meat in your food in Korea and Kay-golgi means dog meat lol. Just been a bit since I have read on the golgi training stuff.
