straps for smaller hands

Can anyone tell me if straps for small hands exist? I use Karde's big padded black things but they're too big for my wrists and too thick to wrap comfortably under my hand. I always feel like I am barely hanging on when I do deads.

I use APT straps (prowriststraps.com). And I've got wee, wee hands.

But I also perform grip work to make up for the deficiency in size.

I have Harbingers...the all black ones with foam padding inside. My wrists are average size for a female and these feel great on me, but I do have them the smallest they go.

Back when I used straps ;) I had the kind Nonerz has. I loved them. They are like a slipknot, so they go about as small as you can pull them.

Many moons ago when I used straps the best I ever found was the Versa Grips..

Very versatile and last for a long time. I have had mine for probably 5 or 6 years. Had to replace the seams with fishing line but they still work well.

They work great for me...but I only use them when I have to...mostly heavy DL & Pull ups. Barbell rows too, since my grip isn't all that. The padding does stop it from getting any smaller, but luckliy it fits my wrists perfectly.

Make your own...buy nylon webbing, you can by it at lowes, home depot...etc. Cut to fit your needs, then take it to a leather, or shoe repair shop and he'll stitch it for you for around 3 dollars....you can generally get around 3 good sets of straps that way....

Heh heh heh....That's what ya get for being old and wasting alot of good money of the years on crap like Weider Inosine, Cybergenics and other get huge quick schemes.....

As for wal-mart, they do sell nylon webbing in the tool section, they are replacements for tie down ratchet straps a hubby or BF would use to secure a load in the back of a truck....

I've tried to use straps for deads, but they completely squeezed off the blood supply to my hands by the end of each set. This cant possibly be good for the hands. Is there some trick to wearing them correctly or is this just considered a normal consequence? Could it cause nerve damage?

To answer the above question from Spatts, I used them because of my tiny hands which preclude the possibility of anything but the very wimpiest of deads poundages. I continue to do both forearm and reverse forearm curls but the gains are very slow going.

I use APT's straps. My hands are pretty small, and I find these straps work well for me.

And like Spatts said, no straps on deadlift!!! :D
