I get this emergency call from my mortgage company. Of course it's a recording, so it's not clear how important it is. But, since I"m bored, I call back.
It seems they put in place a program now where they are "trying to educate" their customers that their payments are due on the 1st even though you have a grace period to the 15th. When I called today they had already gotten my payment, but their system wasn't updated.
My response to the woman was "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!" To which she responded "Well, the payments are due..." I never let her finish. I then informed her that I had, by LEGAL contract, until the 15th to pay them, and that their new policy is annoying as hell. They always receive my payments prior to or at the 1st, not sure why this one didn't make it in time to avoid their annoying mechanism. Then I told her that she needs to educate her bosses that they're stupid and will now be getting payments between the 13th and 15th instead of before or on the first as I've done the last 4 years.
