Steroids & Endurance Training

There is not a whole lot of information about AAS and the effect on endurance training. Specifically, will one get a marked benefit from AAS if ONLY doing endurance training (no weight training at all)? That is, will one see an increase in max VO2 or an increase in Lactate Threshold by doing a typical (basic first timer type) cycle?

I am thinking about running and bicycling of about 6-8 hours week. Like most serious endurance training it would be heart rate based anywhere from 60% max HR to over 90%. One can also throw in interval training where one works on cadence repeated for varying intervals and other variations of endurance training.

I am not talking about EPO or HGH just AAS like Sus. If some one can point me to some good info regarding endurance based training and AAS it would be much appreciated.

Are you doing this for fun, or are you actually competing? I don't see the point in increasing blood volume so I can run for a bit longer... steroids aren't that cheap, ya know?

Certain steroids such as Equipoise increase red blood cell count, so you might want to look into that. It also increases collagen synthesis, which is a nice plus.

hey bro to tell you the truth you dont need to use steroids for the training your doing steroids well not help your v02 max or your lactate threshold and sus will get you mass witch will slow you down if you were to do steroids use some winny at 100mgs ed and you should be good. But to get your vo2 max and your lactate threshold better you have to train for it so when your running try to train to about 70% to 80% of your lactate threshold and in untrained clients the lactate threshold is as low as 50% to 60% of their vo2 max well good luck bro

if that is what you want it for, eq is the way to go, all of my friends that play rugby take eq during the season cause you can run forever cause of the red blood cells and oxygen in your veins.

I would suggest against it. The primary benefit of using AAS with endurance training is the ability to recover from massive training loads quickly. Depending somewhat on the intensity your workouts, in its natural state your body should not have any problem recovering from 6-8 hrs a week of training (make sure your diet is dialed, quality protien, carbs, etc). As in all things AAS, if you want to do it right you should put in at least 4-5 years of hard natural training to max out your potential before you even consider your first cycle.
