Steroids don't cause baldness they just exacerbate it right?

Never heard anyone discuss it but would seem to make sense to me. If you're not going bald, steroids isn't going to cause your hair to fall out. Only if you've started gong bald will you see (maybe) hair loss. Right?

It all depends if you are predisposed to it. If you are and there is male battern baldness in the family then steroids i.e. strong androgens such as test dianabol, anadrol even winny I believe ( basically that convert to DHT) will SPEED up the process.

However if you are not predisposed to MPB then you may never ever encounter this problem...

Yes I guess steroids might speed up the process. Let's say you're 22 and decide to do steroids, and you're DNA says that you're going to start going bald at 25, it's possible that the steroids will speed that process up and you might start during your cycle. However if you don't have this "baldness gene" then it'll never speed up the process.

Exactly!!! Lets say you are predisposed and you hit a heavy bulking cycle there is very much a chance you will start to shed your hair - maybe even rapidly! I am only nineteen and feel I MAY be predisposed....I have not experienced any hair loss as yet but for all I know during my next cycle i may even start shredding....

All to do with genes mate

I've asked a similar question before. I asked if you don't lose hair on a cycle, does that mean you are not predisposed to MPB. The concensus was: not necessarily, because some androgens make some people shed like crazy while other androgens does not effect those same people's hairlines. Hair: the great mystery!

Exactly BOOEY - bump for info though if any guys have naturally a slight receding hair line but have kept a full head of hair (older guys I think it would really apply too) I have the very slightest receding hair line but my hair covers up (french crop) and have noticed this applies for alot of guys....even in pictures of me when i was very young, aged six even, it was my natural hairline :worried: Is this just the case for some guys do you think..?

Naturally receding but not predisposed???? Hmmm

Hi Wannabebig: Sorry, but androgens pretty much can cause hair loss with susceptibility being due to the genes you inherited from mom and pop. Testosterone & its synthetic analogs are converted to dihyrotestosterone by the enzyme 5-alpha reductase which causes a reduction in protein synthesis by inhibiting adenyl cyclase in the hair bulb; the result is shorter and finer hair. As the hair growth cycle proceeds, the hairs continue to become smaller and finer and eventually fall out. Your genetics determine susceptibility-if you're not losing your hair by age 40 (or after 2-3 cycles) you're follicles are pretty resistant and you can be pretty safe your going to keep your mane.

Even Deca can do it.
It did to me in first cycle.

Hi, Jdevlin. Of course I meant "BIG" cycles. If you've still got all your hair after running 3 cycles of Anadrol 100mg QD X first 4W; Test 750mg QW X 12W; Winny 50 QD X last 6W; Halotest 30mg QD X last 3W- I doubt seriously if you're going to lose it due to AAS. (Just an observation I've made over the last 20 years.) Of course, I've seen guys go cue-ball after only 8 weeks of 500 sust, so in the beginning it's all a crap shoot.
