Squats :) I see big numbers...

I am seeing big numbers in my future again. I still feel strange squatting...but it progresses each week.

Box Squats
295 x 2 x 6 sets (45 sec rest between sets)
405 x 1
495 x 1
556 x 1 PR!!!!!!

brian747478' used 205 on his box squats (working on his form)
205 6th set
295 x 1

brian did some high pulls with 230
230

Pulling 280 for 3 immediate sets of 5, simulating the power stairs
brian Pulling 230 for 3 immediate sets of 5, simulating the power stairs

Kettle Bell Swings
56 x 5 with each arm x 2 sets

We also finished up by doing some 30-35' runs with 255 farmers, grip work and we did some calves. Not too bad.

I have watched that video about 15 times and this is what I see (in case you care...lol)

When you break to start the squat you break with your knees, in other words they are the first part of your body to move. I don't know if you are altering your form b/c of your hamstring or not so....but if you start by sitting back, pushing your hips back until they won't go back any more then breaking at the knee you will get a whole lot more out of your hamstrings and glutes. Brian747478 you are doing the same thing.....try leaning forward about 10-15 degrees more and pushing back with you hips to start the squat instead of starting with your knees bending

great work guys........... the thing that impressed me the most was your speed , both of you. you both came of the box on those heavy sets very very fast out the hole.

Nice man guess the rehab is working wonders. Nice depth each of you. real fast and real strong, I notice no break in the arch

Huge box squat B!!!

You must be following my squat plan!! (just kidding)

I love your cage!! I need something bigger, because the one I am using is twice as deep as your first weider cage.

Keep up the good work. . .hips are looking mighty strong for you.

You are correct, a problem that I just can't seem to whip, especially with heavier weights.

Got in today... did some box squats, speed deads, also did a few heavier DL singles... but nothing TOO heavy.

Haven't had a good DL workout in a while, between contest preparation and work... form was suffering a bit.. but it will come back... need to hit 500 soon.

congrats on the pr man. that looked pretty good. i like how ya did the dl imitating the power stairs. that was pretty sweet. might have to try that. love the kettle bell swings too. those look fun.

Thanks...I'm trying to start going hard and heavy for a while and brian is relaxing a bit...we both need it.

Yeah I was surprised to see Shane in the gym so soon after Bluegrass... but some people get fat if they dont work out...
