dude you seem to be pretty stong but watching some of your videos you dead lift form really bothers me. Do you have a coach?

my deadlift videos are old with conventional stance.

my new sumo style pullin keeps me upright. ill upload a recent deadlift video from last weekend. You can easily see how inexpierienced i was on those deadlift videos.

and yes i do have a coach now, in the videos you have seen, no.

To me, this looks like an accident waiting to happen... Before doing these, I would definately do some sorta accomodating resistance movement with bands or chains... If you don't have them, I can give you a source for a band pack with all 4 types and the real deal, not the cheapies on Ebay...

I don't understand why you would attempt to lock out 350 pounds more than what you hope to acheive in a full squat... I do beleive in overload but not to that extent... go to 700 with a higher rep and set scheme...

Not criticizing, just saying your raw with 350 lbs more than you hope to do suited... lotsa room for error IMO...

I do train with bands and chain. Have the EliteFTS bands myself.

i attempted this because basically in a suit its how much u can hold and get up. I am underguessing myself and shooting for 650. In my head i know 700 is possible as well as 750lbs.

i just dont understand how you think its an accident waiting to happen. I started with 5 plates, did 5 reps, realized how easy it was. So i figured today was a day to test my 1R max on these.

My legs are overly strong and hardly get worked out to MAX efforts involving mostly leg. The only reason i could not squat 600 in my alst competition was my upper back collapses under heavy weight. Now i know i can handle and hold 936lbs. 700 should not feel heavy and should be doable.

If my body couldnt handle it it would not have budged off the pins. This was a 1 time thing this month, as we dont do alot of top end work. Since we are working for speed out of the hole. This was the first time in a while to max out on lockouts.

Im just wondering, do you do any bench lockouts? same theory of training...

Thanks for the concern tho, but

If, and I repeat, if, there's an accident waiting to happen in this situation then this is where it lies.

It definitely helps to walkout big weights and to familiarize yourself with them. Being able to lockout 936, though, doesn't mean that you'll be able to bring 700 from half-way up all the way to the top. If you want to work on that part of your movement then consider some chain-supported squats or similar.

Stay healthy.

Very true blut very true, chew is also right in his thinking too

so im wondering, you guys dont do lockouts? just asking.

It's a great feeling and it's pretty much the first thing I do when I get some new plates. In the main, I don't incorporate them into my training but I'm an old fogey who is keen on getting even older.

It used to be used as a technique to strength bones and ligaments.

thank you, as i did not know the 'main reason' for them.

This was the first time doing lockouts in over 2months. So ill make sure to use them sparingly. Thanks blut.

My area of concern is your back, that would be IMO what most likely could be compromised first. Your beginning a basically concentric only movement with your back in what seems to be a bad position once your under weight. Going from no stress and no gear to 300 lbs or whatever more than you can do fully geared up, I just don't see the benefit. On your third attempt after failing twice, you did hit it... I'm not questioning your tenacity, I just don't see the use... I'm sure your strong and young with a healthy back but injuries come in the weirdest situations.

I've trained with and been taught by some of the best squatters in the world and have never seen these guys do it nor heard of them doing it... that's all... not saying there is only one way to do it cuz I know plenty that don't work, just saying...

No I don't do lockouts, I have a strong lockout and strong off my chest, I stall 3-5 inches of my chest so I do plenty of board work in that area and work lockouts by other means...

Like you, I train my weakpoint until I find a new one but I was just offering up my thoughts...
