How much does it cost to go to a orthopedic doctor and what do they do to fix you? How did your chiropractor make things worse?
Sent from my SGH-T769 using EliteFitness
Chiropractors usually makes things worse glad to hear yours did a good job but you should really go to an orthopedic doctor and see what he recommends I can guarantee he will say stay away from chiropractors
Do the doctors you play poker with know that you don't think they're worth a shit?
Lol!
idk, the hubs went to my orthopedist, who referred him to a neurosurgeon (yikes) for a bulging lumbar disc bluge that was severe enough he couldnt walk ..not from the pain per se but the muscle weakness from the muscle weakness
his spine is otherwise very healthy (lucky bastard) the neurosurgeon wanted him to no longer lift , did NOT refer him to pt and wanted to jump to cortisone injections
I mentioned he did deadlifts and other posterior chain work and I felt he had a core muscle imbalance...I was informed barbell training was VERY VEEEEERY dangerous and thats what got him there in the first place. I tried to explain someone walked into the bar mid deadlift and he twisted ...THATS how this happened..and asked about cortisone injections causing eventual tissue degeneration. I was asked to leave the room. I was respectful and inquisitive btw but wasn't keen on the zero pt recommendation.
Our insurance covers chiropractic care ...so I called around friends got the same recommendation from four different peoples
the chiro got him going on pt, stressed he had to lay off the barbell training for a short till he recovered and agreed to treat him for free if he still had problems AFTER insurance ran out..
guess what, after a weak of active release EVERY DAY he had an easy 60% pain reduction. after a month of twice a week "adjustments with pt" he was 90%
another month or so after that he was back in the gym and is pain free to this day.
Im not convinced there arent assholes in every area of practice and I KNOW complimentary medicine is effective.
I do like an inversion table btw..but to say its the panacea isn't correct. It can help but it can also help a stroke happen.
I recently sold mine because it became a garment hanger but did what I wanted it to do at the time..get pressure off a thoracic nerve.
