is it true if you pay a dollar extra on a ticket , and when the court sends you a refund check for the dollar you dont cash it, they cant close the account therefor they cant send the info to your insurance company?

look it up for me bitch.

I like a man that takes control.

If the entire internet world knows about it, the various police forces have most likely remedied the situation, if it actually ever existed.

:cow:

I don't think that has any merit. If I give you a speeding ticket and you pay the fine, you are pleading "guilty" in court, which reports that information to the department of revenue or license bureau. The court does not notify your insurance company, they have no way of knowing what insurance company you use. The insurance companies conduct random, quarterly, or yearly reviews of your driver's license conviction record, which in most states is considered public information that anyone can look at. That is one of the things the insurance uses to set your rates. I run into drivers all the time that have horrible driving records but are still able to maintain insurance, even when they don't have a license. This is usually because the insurance company has not found out about it yet.

I've just tried and it works!
Awesome!

Do it!

The info gets sent to the DMV from the court by computer, then the DMV send out the info to the insurance company and your rates go up. The dollar has no effect on the court. Sorry for the bad news.

always, always fight it.

most of the time the cop will make a deal with you before you go in front of a judge...usually for like no points or some kind of lesser penalty.

if not, well, do your homework, put together some kind of arguement and give it a shot in front of the judge...might as well.

I have gotten one of the automated red light photos in the mail. I trashed it, never heard back on it again.
No problems renewing my license many years later too.
I was under the impression they had to serve it to you personally to be valid, and they never did come a knockin

I can't believe you believed that. The courts don't send the info to your insurance company. The insurance companies just check the public records.
