Sore injection site

I have been doing bilateral injections in my biceps. I inject half in the left bicep, swab the needle and swab the right bicep and inject. Today for the first time ever on the second bicep it was painful like the needle was more dull than usual and when I pulled the needle out it bled imediately and then within a minute later it bruised at the injection spot. can anyone explain this to me. did i just hit a vein? and by doing the bilateral is there a great risk of infection? also how important is it to get all the air bubbles out of the syringe? thanks

Sounds like you passed thru a vein,bruising is blood under the skin, take a hot washcloth and massage the area for several minutes,you may soak the washcloth several time to keep the heat.
just keep an eye on it for any sudden changes.

If it's me I would use a fresh pin each bicep, there's no real cost involved here and I like a sharp needle thanks.

Could possibly be some scar tissue you hit too if doing these injections regularly but also a vein as mentioned. It's important to get most if not all air out but possibly more important to aspirate.

IMO injecting in the biceps is not prudent in the first place.

Why the bicep when you have big muscles in your ass. And yes it is not smart to inject with the same needle in 2 different areas. For one the needle is more dull and can tear more on the way in, 2 the risk of infection even if you wipe with alcohol is greater. Wiping an area or needle with alcohol does not make it sterile. it makes it cleaner.

You mave busted some capillaries on the way in or out. No biggie but it would be wise to use your glutes, delts, thighs.

Are you serious. Thats a whole other problem. I do my bi's but I don't use the same pin. I inject 1cc EQ into each bi and I love it, but I aspirate everytime. Check this site spotinjections.com for advise on injections. For your problem, you passed threw a vein which is very easy in your bi's if you don't know what you are doing. You can pretty much see most of your veins if you are on EQ so I know exactly where to shot. Check that site and let me know if you have any issues.

What do u mean aspirate?

wow. You need to read up on proper injection techniques.

BTW ALWAYS aspirate.
