The best policy is to get just the right amount, and there are penalties for too much just like too little. Alot of the signs you mentioned are indicative of overtraining. The tough part is seperating a lack of motivation or a down day from a legitimate case of overtraining. A good indicator IMO is if you do tough the workout out how does it go? If you push past the initial feelings and have a good session then I think its a motivation thing and you should push past it as suggested. If however you proceed to have a terrible workout and don't shake the initial physical and mental hangups, overtyraining is more likely and if this is the case you are better off to take a break. You may not want to hear it, but over training isn't ususal solved in taking a day off. Some need a week or more off, and more importantly you need to reassess the routine and life decisions that got you to this point so you can correct them. Otherwise you'll be right back in the same spot. This stuff may or may not apply to you jkurz, it just my thoughts on overtraining. Hope its of some help and good luck getting back in the groove. Sometimes it just takes one good set to turn the corner.
