Soprano's fourth season

well it was only written for 4 series anyhow. the whole thing was supposed to be four acts and each series is an act. maybe they'll persuade him to stay for a 5th series, but chances are a lot of the actors might not wanna get typecast. Still, with the life he leads, he was gonna get bumped off sometime

Basically from what i hear, most everyones contracts are up after the fourth season, some of the more important actors are saying they are not intrested in coming back for a fifth season or another contract, but they are just saying that in hopes of getting hbo to give them the big pay day. What they are doing isnt really anything different than an athlete in the final year of his sports contract.
