Too funny! I had the same thing happen to me yesterday. It was swamped with new people. I came in tired and generally in a bad mood, and decided to do some bi/tri supersets. I set up my straight bar and a cambered bar by a bench (for bb curls/skullcrushers), did a warm up set, and then realized I had left my water bottle in my rig. I was gone for less than sixty seconds, and when I came back I found some lady doing kickbacks with a two pound dumbbell on my bench. She didn't even look up or say, "I'm sorry, were you using this?", even though it was pretty fucking obvious. I didn't say anything, just scooted my shit about two feet away from her, got another bench, and started lifting, grunting, uttering expletives to myself, and crashing the weights after my set. I think that may have made her uncomfortable, because she promptly left the area.
A few minutes later, I was on the preacher bench and heard some little bitch complaining about the music to one of the guys working there. I think it was G 'n' R or something. Nothing too hardcore, we have it piped in by satellite.
You know, I try to be nice to new members and make them feel welcome, but if they want to act like they own the place they don't deserve that. When I first joined there, I was already larger than many, but I never acted like a cocky SOB, and was careful not to hog equipment. Now I've been going there for three years and work there as well, yet I still don't act like an ass. I have no idea why these people feel they can come busting in on the scene just because they got their flabby asses motivated enough to buy our $99 New Year's special.
So endeth my rant.
