I wonder why people can't do it. If I'm tempted by junk food, I think about what I'd rather have... 5 minutes of bliss by eating it... or 24 hours of feeling good about not.
It's the mentality of this country. Meaning that nobody wants to work for anything. Look at the supplements out there, the majority don't work, but use knockoff names of roids to entice people to buy them. No science behind them at all. They prey on the uneducated, lazy consumer. Same goes for fast food restaurants, they're everywhere. How many people do you know that eat a well-balanced, or even moderately balanced home-cooked meal? There was a time that people ate meals together, almost daily. Now, most jobs don't allow people to do that, nor do most people even learn how to cook anything...let alone healthy meals. BodySolutions, Metabolife, and other "weight loss" miracles advertise no long strenous workouts, lose weight while you sleep, Atkins no carb diets, etc. Again preying on the lazy mentality of the general public.
I own a health food catering business, doing a lot of work out of gyms, etc. I talk to people everyday, all the time about eating right, and I get the most ridiculous excuses. Even in my gymn, people tell me that they only workout so they can eat whatever they want, but they're still overweight, out of shape, etc! I rarely get any business from personal trainers, which I don't understand, because every client I had, I have demanded a sustained effort on eating habits change. And I know tons of trainers. I know in California there are a lot of health food restaurants, they do well, but here in Texas, I'd never take the chance to open one, because most people do not want to eat right, let alone workout. In my gymn yesterday, there was a woman working out with a pt buddy of mine.....she weighed 375, (at least that's what she said....I'm thinking at least 400), and didn't want to talk about her eating habits! That's actually normal for a lot of people.
