We should also add that different people are sensitive to different esters. The most notable is of propionate. The three carbon ester of propionate resembles that of bee venom and can produce a similiar reaction of pain and significant swelling in sensitive individuals amoung other effects. But on the upside it can be treated with ibuprofin and pretty much guarantees that your test is real.
