some pr's today

I rarely do singles as that how I got hurt, but I managed a few pr's on my sets today. I have a brutal cold which seriously messed up my endurance, but managed to bench 335lbs for 6(pr by 1 rep) and 5 reps, with a full pause on every rep. I then hit up incline dumbell press, 140's for an easy 6, until a few weeks ago my best was 7 reps on the 125's. Damn is it ever a bitch getting those dumbells into place though
When I'm healthy next week I want those 140's(biggest dumbells my gym has btw) for 8-10 reps

Congrats bro, thats some really nice weight. I'm sure youll top all that once youre feeling better. I can imagine how it is to get those dumbells up...

thanks, the dumbells were a bitch. I set the bench up right in front of the rack, so when I pick them up I just sit down. But when I drop back down onto the bench, they damn near rip my arms off, not to mention my wrist keeps wanting to buckle on me...getting them back on the rack is fun too

Damn NS that's awesome.

Can't you find a couple of guys to hand off those bells? Getting them up must be a workout in itself

its pretty rare when there is anyone around capable of handing them to me

awesome work.

are you able to effectively kick back those dumbells (off your thighs) into position? do you keep your arms in close to your chest as the weights move into place?

doing that shit is pretty dangerous in and of itself. keep safe.

:D

I keep my arms in close as I drop down, but there is so much weight it creates a lot of momentum so its hard to stop them once you hit the bench

nice lifts. have you asked your gym for larger dbs? the gym that i train chest at only has dbs up to 95. i'm not pressing them yet, but i'm wondering if, when i get to that point, they'd laugh off a request for heavier ones. the other gym i train at has them up to 145s. i've never seen anyone do anything other than row them.

good job bro, time to start harassing them for larger ones,we only have 80's at my gym so Im moving in the new year back to bodyline

I think our dumbells go to 225. Not like I'll ever be using them, lol.

Mainly because I only use DBs for side bends. Since I train alone, I can't imagine the work involved in getting the 225s ready to press.

Well, I dunno maybe I'll get up to a 225 side bend someday. That would be a strong fucking core.

that's a shitload of weight in dumbells! awesome numbers.

i'll max with a 65 in each hand on incline, and i thought that was difficult getting into position. can't imagine 140.

so is 5x5 going to get me to that far eventually?
;)

I dont know if they will bring in bigger dumbells since there are only 2 other guys that I know of that could use them, and thats out of 3-4 thousand members. As it is we have the ivanko dumbells that go up to 125lbs, then the 130's and 140's are special order chrome deals
