lol, not in these, but there are some crappy pics tooling around here somewhere.

It's really a great area with loads of attractions, both historical and recreational, many of which are within a few hours of each other. Deadwood/Lead/Homestake, Spearfish Canyon, Devil's Tower, Mammooth site in Hot Springs, Wild Horse Sanctuary....

True. The wagon's ARE contemporaneous to the expedition but they are not from the expedition. The Gordon Stockade, while mostly a re-creation, does include a few cabins from the fort along with replicas. You can enter the replicas but, of course, but the originals are chained off.

How did they cut the grass back then? My grows over six feet if I don't cut it.

Site seeing bores the hell out of me. I can just watch it on television. All the goofy tourists and their cameras hanging off their necks.

We should rename the mountain after the Indians and not some fucking New York Lawyer. I wouldn't go there. I'd feel I was treading on Indian holy ground. Intrusive white devils.

It's going to be so amazing when it is finished. I had a buddy doing part of the geologic study on it so he brought me the tailings from the very first charges they set off. It now sits in a case on my parents tv.LOL

Hope you got the appropriate provenance so you can sell it for good money on ebay  :)
And it will be amazing when it's finished. One obstacle (besides it's size) is the family refuses to accept government assistance (I'm not saying it's right or wrong) towards the project, so they move only as fast as donations will allow them.

The Black Hills (Paha Sapa), as well as Bear Butte, and Devil's Tower is considered Holy by many tribes. Although I don't think a butcher such as William Harney should be commemorated with a peak named in his honor, the hills have had many names under many different tribes...who determines which should take precedence? The term 'Black Hills' is appropriate in description and appropriately innocuous.

I'd never sell it has too much personal value. But it is fun to hand to people and tell them that they're holding Crazy horse, brings the strangest looks.
