Some digital cam recommendations please.

I'm planning a purchase and have been researching them lately. All I understand about them as of now is the megapixil capacity. I read that 2M or better can produce the quality equivalent of a 35MM film camera. I saw a Nikon something-or-another 2200 that was 3 megapixils for $130 but I've also seen some for as low as $88 that were like 3.5.

I need a camera that can take very sharp pics of earrings, bracelets, and necklaces that I make which I am going to sell on ebay.

Any particular brands and models you guys recommend? What other features besides the pixil thing should I look for?

Get a 5mp camera and snap a shot of that taint.

Pics on ebay you want to be 2mp or less... I would say under 1mp is going to be best because you don't want it to take forever and a day to load the picture on the buyers computer. So if that is your only purpose don't be TOO concerned about mp.

Remember though that I'm not selling used car parts on Ebay, pics of jewelry really need to be very clear and crisp to show off it's beauty. I think 2mp or better is going to be necessary.

Do you have a dig cam? If so, what price and quality?

I have an older sony 5mp, paid 450 or so for it back in the day...

I now have a sub 2mp camera that I paid around 130 for on ebay.... I use it the most because it is about the size of a credit card.. just 10 or so thick... but for a guy... I can put it in my back pocket....


Okay... go to ebay and find me some pics of jewelry you find meet your standards... send to me and I will tell you what size they are in MP... so you can make a real determination as to how quality the pics need to be. I am willing to bet they are 2mp... or even close.

That is a great idea! I cant get to Ebay here at work since it is blocked. I'll have to save a pic at home and bring it on a disk. Thanks.

it cost me about £300, so like $500, it depends what you want, I now have a decent camera for the foreseeable future, when you buy cheap you often have to buy twice, but I digress, check out the cannon sureshot range, I hear good things about them

About jewlery on EBay...I was talking to her about all the research that she's doing. Compiled it in an Excel spreadsheet that's on her desktop.

Whatever you buy it must have a MACRO setting for the camera to focus
close up on the jewelry or the taint..
