Have you tried the Hershey brand sugar free syrup? I threw the whole bottle out. It was GROSS! Then again nothing can Really replace the real thing.

No I haven't.......saw this stuff & decided to try it out. Wasn't all that expensive either. Might be good to dip strawberries in or add to a shake...

That "no sugar" stuff you have to be careful of -- if you read any of the diabetic chocolate products they all say don't be suprised if you get 'the runs'.

Well it has Splenda in it & so far, it hasn't bothered me..... ;)

I have some hard candies made with Splenda as well & it says on the container if you eat too many, that is a side effect.... :worried:

I have the Walden's farm calorie free syrup and dressings ..
Yes, they taste good. but gotta be careful like sassy said :)

Well, hopefully it tastes good......

As for the "side effect" -- I can handle it if it's not like food poisoning.... :worried:

I haven't had any side effects yet. I think if you consume more than the serving suggestion it won't be "calorie free"

What us horseadish?

Horseradish is like a root vegetable -- it's HOT!! It is sold fresh, then grated & normally served with Beef. You can buy it in the jar as: with mustard, creamed (not as hot), or prepared (already grated for you). Look for it in the condiment aisle of your grocery store. It's good, but hot. I love it!!

As for the Walden Farms Chocolate Sauce -- I dipped my finger in it to taste it & it was pretty good..........

Splenda has malitol and sucrolose in it - in larger quantities, they have been proven to cause bad stomach cramps and diarrhea.

On one of my cheat days about a year ago - I decided to eat a whole pint of the Atkins Pralines & Cream ice cream. The next day, I had stomach cramps & diarrhea so bad I couldn't leave the house. It was horrible. I haven't eaten any since. :worried:

Exactly!. Just when you think you found the ultimate cheat food, you end up w/ somethign funky happening to your digestive system. Back to the old addage of eating food that is as minimally processed as possible. Even in your cheat food.

Larger quantities = more than most would ever consume.....

sure it want the sugar alcohols??

they are a carb with a fatty acid tail on them so the body cant process it - so its um..passed thru

whatever it was - it hurt. And I've found that even sugar substitutes like Splenda can keep the fat from coming off. I use them sparingly.

it was a process of elimination. my fat loss was stuck and I started looking at my dieta little closer. I was using Splenda a lot - in my iced tea, in my oatmeal. I was even adding it to some nasty tasting protein powder that I had bought. I decided to cut out the sweetener for a couple of weeks and it worked.

I used to buy it in bulk - they sell it in bags just like sugar. Now I buy the individual packets and only use one Splenda packet in my protein shake when I add the glutamine & creatine. (it covers the taste)

I tink Oxygen did a little blurb on the overuse of Splenda hindering fat loss. It was in the abs issue this year.
